Chapter Text
It was the beginning of a normal Sunday morning. Shizuku and her little sister, Shiho, had just left their house for a special meetup. With a bass on Shiho's back and a bag in Shizuku's hands, they walked through while interacting with each other.
"I can't wait for the meeting! I hope this one is much better, right, Shii-chan?" Shizuku asked, smiling.
"Yeah, Sis, whatever," With a cold expression, Shiho responded.
As they walked through the sidewalk, they suddenly found a familiar-sounding girl with pigtails and a bright voice. It was Saki, one of Shiho's classmates. She brought a bunch of stuff, all neatly packed in a plastic bag.
"Ah, Shiho! Good morning! Oh, you're with your sister today?" Saki asked.
"Yeah, Minori and her friends are going to have a special meetup near the Scramble Crossing. Sis and I are invited for some reason... though..." Shiho said, blushing.
"Lucky you! I just got back from shopping with Icchan at the convenience store, so I guess I have to get back home now. Big bro is also waiting for me. See you tomorrow at school!" Saki ran from the two as she waved her hands.
"Bye! See you there!" Shiho and Shizuku waved back at Saki as they continued walking.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the Scramble Crossing. Minori, Haruka and Airi — standing near a dog statue — ran over to the two and greeted them joyfully.
"Shiho! Shizuku! G'morning! We are going to hmmm... something really, and I mean REALLY, cool place! Are you ready for this absolutely special meetup?" Minori excitedly asked.
"...M-hm." Shiho nodded without saying anything.
"Yeah! Where are we going today? We can't just wander around like a homeless family, right?" Shizuku answered, wondering where to go.
"The shopping mall! We had already planned on where to go yesterday and-" Airi explained until something interrupted the conversation.
Beep! Again, a notification from the news center appeared on Airi's phone. Back in action! Three unknown magical girls defeated monster at Nonogi Park.
Welp, there we go again. Airi thought as she opened the notification and read the entire news on her own. I think a witness saw it and told the news station, but... what if they know we are Pretty Cures?
"Airi, what's going on? That news again?" Shizuku asked, confused.
"Yeah, what's with those magical girl things? That's not in my cup of tea, literally," Shiho responded, suspiciously following her big sister.
"I still don't know who they are either... I need to conduct research on them sometime," Airi said, trying not to let her lie go through.
"Anyway, let's just go to the mall. Shop 'till you drop, everyone!" Haruka finally informed everyone.
"YEAH!!" Everyone got ready as they strolled down the street.

"There we are!" Minori yelled as they arrived at the shopping mall.
The five decided to split up. Shizuku with her little sister, while the rest became a group of three. Shizuku and Shiho decided to shop for trinkets at a trinket shop, while Minori, Haruka and Airi went to a clothing store to purchase some clothes and accessories. As they finished shopping, they gathered up at a cafe and rambled around.
"I got a pair of rabbit plushies for us two! The blue one is mine, while the green one is for Shii-chan. Oh, and we found these Phenny keychains at the second-hand section of the shop," Shizuku rummaged through her bag, getting all the merchandise out one by one.
"The stuff that we got are a bit too cute, I can't stand them...!" Shiho blushed again.
"Wait, that's cool! Haruka, Airi and I got a lot of clothes and accessories! These are mine, those are Haruka's and the ones on Airi's hands are hers!" Minori told Shizuku and Shiho about what the three got.
"Interesting, but those clothes look a bit too girly to me," Shiho responded.
"C'mon, Shiho! You're a girl too, right?" Minori asked as she smiled at the tomboy.
"SHUT UP! I'm not..." Shiho responded as she angrily blushed. That only made things worse, as everyone started laughing at her, who continued to blush and look away.
As their orders came in, they enjoyed the visit happily with smiles blooming on their faces.

As the five girls left the mall, they decided to reside at Nonogi Park to see the sunset. They sat on a clean, quiet bench and chit-chatted with each other. Shiho practiced with her bass as she sang some of her favorite songs. Minori and Shizuku admired the orange sky while Haruka left and did a karaoke session with Airi, who was sitting down with her phone out to record.
"MII!!"
Airi's phone suddenly flashed blue and the recording came to a stop. Mii-tan flew out as Airi tried not to jump in surprise.
"What's going on-mii? OMG, the sunset is so pretty-mii!!!" she looked at the beautiful red-orange sky with excitement as Airi put her back into Minori's bag.
"Momoi, what's that sound?" Shiho asked, confused.
"N-n-n-nothing!!! It's a plushie that Haruka, Minori and I share!" Airi lied, again. Why was it so hard to come up with lies to cover up Mii-tan and their identities as Pretty Cures?!
"Huh.. that's strange," Shizuku responded, but still suspicious.
Full of suspicion, Shiho and Shizuku decided to ignore that sound from their minds as they continued their activities with the other three. As time went by, the sky grew darker and darker. They knew that they had to get back soon. The five later parted ways and went home.

The next day was the first day of school for this week. The five met in the schoolyard before the bell rang.
I hope another Despairian isn't summoned today... Minori thought, scared of what would happen next, as she kept Mii-tan in her bag.
"So, how was the special meetup? Did you guys have fun?" Haruka asked, pulling up a smile.
"Of course we did, why not?" Minori, Airi and Shizuku responded excitedly.
"Sigh... not really," Shiho responded, too, as she pouted.
"I hung the keychains in our bags so that people will know that we're siblings, right, Shii-chan?" Shizuku said as she cheered her little sister, who quickly nodded.
Little did they know, the signs of a ringing bell came in. The five parted ways as they left the schoolyard. It went silent right after.

The Stage SEKAI was still as desperate as 2 days ago. Fragments were still scattered from the then lively place and were left unhabitable for days, except for the 5 Vocaloids — known as the Despair Gang. Their lives were not the same anymore as back then. They lived in despair, for their hopes were taken by the Despairians. In the Despair Gang's hideout, their lives are different.
"Four cups of wine for all of us!" MEIKO happily said as she offered the wine to each Vocaloid, except Luka.
"Thank you!" Rin excitedly showed up as she finished eating her orange-flavored shaved ice.
"Thanks," Len responded while reading his favorite comic book.
"Mhm. Thank you, Miss MEIKO," KAITO coldly responded as he flipped an old magazine.
Rin, Len, MEIKO and KAITO enjoyed their wine until Luka asked something that disturbed MEIKO for a bit.
"Wait, how about me?" she asked.
"Not for you, Luka. You failed to plunge the world into despair. Oh, forgot to tell you about this too, but I decided to burn that book," MEIKO explained, making a serious face.
"YOU BURNT MY BOOK?!" Luka desperately cried. "Oh well.... that book was kind of dumb anyway."
MEIKO left Luka's place and came over to Len, who was busy with his wine.
"Len, it's your turn now. You haven't summoned a Despairian since the first fight with those... Pretty Cures," MEIKO said, cringing just at the thought of saying Pretty Cures. She immediately touched his chin as a sign to look at her.
"B-But!" Len responded again.
"KAGAMINE LEN! I'm serious right now!"
"Yeah, yeah, if you insist, then I should go!" Len said as he left the hideout angrily.
"Well, then, good luck," KAITO waved his hands to Len.
"Don't fail us."
The rest followed KAITO as they waved their hands as Len was ready to plunge the world into despair, again.

Break time had just started for today. The entire MMJ members and Shiho decided to meet again at the schoolyard for a small talk. Shiho brought her bass again as she strummed it, producing a melodic tune. Minori brought Mii-tan with her, along with Haruka. Airi and Shizuku brought their lunch boxes to gobble up.
"Mmmm...! Sushi really is yummy, right, Shizuku? Everyone?" Airi asked as she ate happily.
"It really is!" Shizuku responded, "Also... I don't know how to say this, but could you try talking to Shii-chan to kind of bring her hopes up? She's going to perform at a live house with her friends!"
"Ooooh, that's cool, Shiho! I swear, you, Ichika, Saki and Honami will do great today, trust me!" Minori said as she gripped Shiho's hands, followed by Haruka and Airi, who quickly nodded.
"Thank you, guys. Getting praised like this is enough for me," a smile bloomed on Shiho's face as she blushed for a bit. "I think I also hope the same, thanks to you guys."
"You're welcome, Shiho!" Airi said happily.
They continued chit-chatting like they did yesterday, little did they know that something would interrupt their time again, but... worse.
Len, arriving near the school, flew through the schoolyard while finding five girls interacting with each other. As he pointed to the girls, he spotted a short-haired, tomboyish girl with her bass talking with them.
Perfect.
Len knew well she emitted the powers of hope to her own body.
"Welp, what do we have here? A tomboy, and her sister, I suppose? Oh, heck no, they're with the nasty Pretty Cures. Hmmm... looks like the tomboy has the cursed powers of hope emitted through her body! Hah... Guess what?" Len observed what was happening before targeting Shiho as today's victim.
He then took the red crystal MEIKO had given him.
"The powers of hope! Please vanish from the girl's soul!"
Shiho gasped, clinging to her chest as she suddenly collapsed to the floor next to her bass. Shizuku cried out, going down to Shiho, taking out her phone to call 911.
"SHII-CHAN!!!" Shizuku screeched as she came over Shiho's body.
"May your powers of hope become the powers of despair! Now, come forth, Despairian!" Len said once again as he combined Shiho's hope and the red crystal into one. A Despairian was summoned right after.
"DESPAIRIAN!" A bass-shaped Despairian, composed of Shiho's hope, cried as it moved towards the other students.
Screams erupted in the school. Shizuku was worried about her little sister's sudden fainting. Minori, Haruka and Airi, along with Mii-tan, who popped out of Minori's bag, came over to the being, knowing it was time for the three to battle again.
"Heh, hi there, Pretty Cures! Is it your time to get beaten up?" Len snickered.
"We're going to beat YOU up!" Minori said, seriously.
Shizuku, who noticed the three as she looked away from her phone, was surprised just by overhearing them. Are they... the magical girls on the news...?
"Everyone, pull out your Pacts-mii!!" Mii-tan comanded.
"M-hm!" The three girls nodded as they showed their Pacts to the enemy.

Minori, Haruka and Airi, now in transformation mode, opened their Pacts. They knew it was their time to shine again.
"Precure! More More Spirit Charge!"
As the Pacts activated, orange, blue and pink lights surrounded the three, starting their transformation.
Fwooosh!
Within seconds, their tops and arm warmers were formed, followed by their skirts and boots. The once glittery dresses became a much-styled dress for them to wear as Pretty Cures. Their hair started to grow longer and brighter right after. Accessories adorned their hair as they smiled. The Pacts appeared later, tucked in small white waist bags.
After a brief fall, Minori, Haruka and Airi, now Cure Hope, Cure Shine and Cure Love, landed on the ground as they introduced themselves.
"Hopeful feelings becoming one! The orange-colored clover, Cure Hope!"
"Keeping the world with a shining blaze! The blue-colored clover, Cure Shine!"
"Protecting your lovely smiles! The pink-colored clover, Cure Love!"

The three Cures jumped down and are ready to defeat the Despairian. Before they started the battle, Love came over to Shizuku.
'Shizuku! Bring Shiho to a safe place as we defeat this thing!" Love informed as Shizuku stood up.
"...Okay!" Shizuku responded, shocked after realizing that three of her friends were those magical girls in yesterday's news.
They were... those magical girls? I must be dreaming...
As Shizuku patted Shiho's head, she looked back at her sister, worried.
'Don't worry, Shii-chan. The magical girls will save you," she said.
Not far from Shizuku and Shiho, Hope and her friends were ready to beat the Despairian up. The Cures quickly went in different directions as the Despairian cried again and launched its first attack. They were able to dodge its attacks and threw them back at the humongous being. Later came Shine and Love, who kicked it with all the power they had. Hope ran over to the Despairian, leaped through the sky, and spun as she prepared for her attack.
While preparing, she summoned three clovers and used them as platforms. She quickly jumped through them and sprang very high — ready to launch her attack.
"TAKE THIS! HAGH!" Hope did a big punch to the Despairian and landed safely.
Mii-tan, who came closer to the Cures, grabbed her pom-poms again and cheer them like the other days.
"CURE HOPE, PUNCH!"
"CURE SHINE, KICK!"
"CURE LOVE, ATTACK!"
"PRETTY CURES, YOU CAN DO IT!"
The Cures were motivated just by hearing Mii-tan's voice, continuing to strike their attacks.
The Despairian, though, wasn't immune to her attacks. It got up again and launched another attack on Hope, but was interrupted by Love, who came over and started her attack.
"Precure! Love Shower!"
The being succumbed to Love's attack, kicking it back.
"Seriously, Despairian? You can't defeat those nasty beings?" Len asked the Despairian.
"... Despairian..." it whined.
"Instead of sitting down like an idiot, get up and finish them!" Len informed again as the being got up again and ran through the Cures.
Back to the Cures' side, Love gripped Hope's hand as they got rid of the dust on their dresses.
"Thank you for saving me, Love. I'm going to fight again!" Hope thanked Love.
"No problem! Now, let's get this thing out," Love responded as she gently pulled Hope's hand.
"Not too fast, you dumbasses!" Len yelled from afar. "Despairian, get them at last!"
"DESPAIRIAN!" The Despairian took Hope and Love, just as they were about to land a punch, trapping them in a big clover-shaped cage.
"Hope! Love!" Shine panicked, but it was too late for her to save them, as she was also taken, trapping her in the same cage as the other two.
"HAHAHAHAH...! WE are going to win this time!" Len yelled again as he celebrated himself.
"How do I open this thing!? There's no lock in here..." Hope was worried.
Shizuku, who witnessed the entire attack, went over to the Cures, Mii-tan and the two enemies as she stopped running and stood fiercely.
"STOP THIS ALREADY!" she screamed, frightened the Despairian.
"I've had enough of you. You harmed my sister and my friends! Why did you do such things to them...? Why...?!" Shizuku asked the Despairian and Len, trying to hold back her tears.
I want to help them.
I just want to help them and do something to make my friends happy.
Shizuku went over to the Cures while realizing that she also had to help her little sister.
...Shii-chan.
I need to protect Shii-chan from any harm.
She doesn't deserve this.
She clenched her fists and yelled, "I don't want such a thing to happen again!"
Noticing Shizuku, who desperately wanted to help the Cures and Shiho, Mii-tan came over to her and gave her the Clover Spirit Pact.
"Shizuku, use this! You want to help them and your little sister, right-mii?" Mii-tan asked.
"Yeah, I want to protect them as well!" Shizuku answered. "Also, what's this? Looks like a makeup compact."
"It's a Clover Spirit Pact! You can use it to transform and fight the Despairian over there-mii!" Mii-tan explained.
"Well, that's cool. Now, how do I activate this?" Shizuku asked again.
"Just wait, and the rest will come to you naturally-mii...!" Mii-tan said, as Shizuku nodded.
Within less than 5 seconds, pale teal light shone through the Pact. Shizuku was going to be the next Pretty Cure.
"Shizuku's going to transform, everyone! Stand back-mii!!"

Pale teal light now surrounded Shizuku as she wondered what was happening.
"What is this place...? What do I have to do again?" she asked.
"As I said before, you're going to transform! To start the transformation, you should shout 'Precure! More More Spirit Charge!' and the rest will come to you naturally-mii!" Mii-tan explained.
"Oh, I get it. I guess it's time," Shizuku said as she opened her Pact.
Shizuku, now in transformation mode, glared at her Pact as she shouted the transformation phrase.
"Precure! More More Spirit Charge!"
The Pact activated, and pale teal light shone from it, starting Shizuku's transformation.
Fwooosh!
Within a few seconds, her top and arm warmers were formed, and so were the skirt and boots. Shizuku's hair grew longer and brighter, being tied into a pair of low pigtails. Accessories were put on her head, along with the hat. Her Pact appeared afterwards, now being put inside a small white waist bag.
Shizuku, now Cure Glow, landed safely after her transformation was completed.
"Making your souls glow in happiness! The teal-colored clover, Cure Glow!"

Cure Glow jumped down, wondering what had just happened.
"W-what was that? What's this new look?" she asked Mii-tan.
"You had just transformed-mii!! Now, to defeat the Despairian, you have to fight! C'mon, Cure Glow, you can do this-mii!" Mii-tan cheered Glow up as she instructed her.
Shizuku... Hope thought. Shizuku... is Cure Glow!
"A FOURTH Pretty Cure?! Nuh uh, not for me! Despairian, get her!" Len informed, angered about the birth of a new Pretty Cure, that is, Cure Glow herself.
Glow, ready to defeat the being, nodded and ran over it. She leaped very high and launched her first attack, already landing with a big punch.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAYAH!" she punched the Despairian with full force as she landed safely.
Shizuku really is amazing, glad she became a Pretty Cure...! Love thought, amazed by Glow's fighting skills.
Glow went over to the other Cures as she used her powers to free them from the cage. The cage slowly disappears right after.
"Thank you, Glow. You saved us!" Hope thanked Glow.
"You deserve to be a Pretty Cure, to be honest," Shine praised.
"It's a pleasure to help you guys, indeed. Now, let's finish that thing," Glow responded as she glared at the Despairian.
Hope, Shine, Love and Glow stood up and were ready to fight again. Glow led them this time as she jumped again and spun through the humongous being.
"I want to save Shii-chan, so please, don't make her suffer again!" she said seriously as she kicked the Despairian, followed by Hope and Shine, who had just prepared for their next attack.
"HAGHHHHH!!!" They launched a double punch, making the Despairian fall to the ground.
"Pretty Cures! You did it-mii!!!!" Mii-tan said excitedly.
"Thanks, Mii-tan! You guys are amazing! Well, then, Glow?" Love asked.
Glow nodded as she prepared for the final attack. Amazed, the other three and Mii-tan knew it was time for her to finish the Despairian.
As she started her attack, Glow summoned a crystal-clear bow and arrow from her hands. She caught it, preparing to shoot the arrow at the Despairian.
"Precure! Glowing..."
Glow paused for a bit as she pulled the arrow.
"ARROW!!" Glow shouted as the arrow passed through the Despairian's body, instantly defeating it.
"Des... pairian... bye-bye..." Letting out one final cry, the Despairian quickly disappeared in pale light.
I defeated it...! The bow and arrow fit the attack perfectly! Glow thought — relieved.
The sky went back to normal, and the school was fully recovered from the Despairian's attacks. Everyone continued their daily lives while ignoring what had just happened.
"Shoot, frick you, Pretty Cures!" Angered, Len disappeared as red light surrounded him.
As Glow collected a teal Clover Fragment, the other Cures and Mii-tan came over to her and thanked her for saving them.
"You're very skilled at fighting! Also, that bow and arrow thing... is that because you joined the school's archery club?' Hope praised as she asked Glow about the attack prompts.
"I was thinking of a suitable attack for me to launch, and the bow and arrow were the first thing that I thought of!" Glow explained, smiling as she blushed for a bit.
"That's cool, actually," Shine said.
As the conversation continued, Mii-tan came over to the four Cures — now together as a group.
"Cure Glow! Everyone! You guys did a great job-mii!! Can I get a high-five from you all?" Mii-tan offered as the Cures did what she wanted.
"Mii-tan..." Glow — knowing the name of the Miku-like creature — said, "Thank you for granting my wish!"
"You're welcome-mii," Mii-tan responded.
"Oh, and about Shiho. Since the Despairian is gone now, let's just bring her to the infirmary. She's supposed to regain consciousness at this point, right?" Hope said to Glow.
"Yeah, but we have to gain back our usual look first," Shine told.
"Yep!" Love agreed.

After the girls transformed back into their civilian forms, they decided to bring Shiho to the infirmary, which isn't too far from the schoolyard. Shiho then gained consciousness, wondering what had just happened. "...Where am I?"
"Shii-chan! You've just woken up. You fell on the ground that afternoon, and I was worried about you," Shizuku responded.
"I think I saw four magical girls fighting a monster, but I don't really know what actually happened," Shiho explained.
"Don't worry about that, here, have a glass of water," Minori offered, smiling again.
"You have to be healthy. Remember that," Haruka reminded.
"Get well soon, Shiho," Airi said.
"Thank you, guys. I really appreciate it," Shiho thanked, blushing.
The five girls had a lot of fun at the infirmary while hoping that Shiho would perform well at the live show, too. Smiles bloomed on their faces once again.
