Notes:

HEY EVERYBODY, so sorry for the late chapter update, I’m currently on vacation as I’m writing this and I had no WiFi so I’m currently hot spotting off of someone’s phone😭 anyway I really hope you enjoy this chapter I’m pretty sure it’s just a little longer than the other one so it’s a little more enjoyable! I’m currently working on chapter 3 And it might be out around in a week or so (sorry for these extremely late updates I’m just a lazy chud). Also if there’s any typos it’s because my autocorrect gave up & I don’t even have someone to read beforehand💔 Ok enough of my rambling I hope you like this!

Chapter Text

You open your eyes slowly, slightly wincing from the bright sun, you notice you're standing in a wide spread field of grass. You looked around to see if there was anyone else, there were a couple of trees and hills but nothing much, the place had such a calming atmosphere you immediately relaxed. You breathe in deeply, taking in all the air around you, it feels so good. You haven't seen the sun in a while. It's nice to have some nice sunny days every once in a while, since you lived in England.

Snapping your focus back, you notice a familiar figure in the distance. “Do I know him from somewhere?” You think to yourself, he approaches you slowly with an agitating noise following, it got louder and louder as he came closer.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.

Rung loudly through the air. as soon as he’s about to put his hand on your shoulder, you wake up abruptly. Jolting up, you look to your side and your alarm clock is blaring at you, screaming to be turned off. You let out a long exasperated sigh and lazily turn it off. Jeez, and to think you were having a nice dream. You close your eyes and realize… What time is it? You fling open your eyelids and look at the time praying you’re not late for you’re class.

You yelp, your eyes opening wider “ELEVEN AM!?? WHAT?? SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!!”

Immediately jumping out of bed, throwing on your clothes, not caring how terrible you look. You grab your backpack and open your door, sprinting out, fumbling the key around trying to lock it, you finally manage to get it in. You lock it and run as fast as you can to your car, stumbling and tumbling on the way. You swing open the car door and attempt to turn it on, after a painstaking amount of time the engine decides to run.

”Finally.” You let out a sigh of relief, slightly relaxing in your car seat.

Eventually you make it to your university campus and rush to your class. You keep your head down as you walk into the auditorium, the professor in the middle of a lecture, pauses to let you know you’re late.

“You’re late.” She states in a monotone voice.

“Yeah, thanks a lot, I knew that already.” You mutter under your breath quickly.

“I’m sorry, I slept in I didn’t mean to at all, next class I’ll be here on time” you put a smile on your face and apologize hoping she’ll get off your back.

God you hated that professor for stating the obvious all the time! You scurry to your seat and unpack your belongings, refusing to look at anyone else in the auditorium due to the embarrassing situation. You feel everyone’s gaze on you but you just try to ignore it.

————————————————

After a whole day of endless seeming classes it’s already 5 pm, and just your luck the rain from earlier today picked up as you exited into the courtyard of your building, even better you’re wearing a white shirt, and no jacket, nor umbrella! Jeez… couldn’t your day get any worse? You quickly run across the big courtyard not wanting to go through the huge university building as you wanted to get home as soon as possible to relax, you pray you don’t slip, not wanting to embarrass yourself.

You finally make it across and rush into the dry building, making your way to the closest exit you could find. You head out and notice a bus stop, hey… maybe you could wait out the rain there? The weather app only says the rain would last thirty five minutes, and you don’t feel like getting anymore soaked than you already are, so you decide it’s a good decision… home can wait a little longer.

You approach the bus stop quickly and sit down on the bench, sighing of relief after running so much just a second ago, you close your eyes and slouch in your seat, waiting to hear the endless banter of droplets to come to an end. After a little you open your eyes and see a guy standing next to you, you study his face for a moment.

“I swear I know him from somewhere…” whispering to yourself so he doesn’t hear you.

Ah! I know he’s that guy from that coffee shop! I could recognize those eyebrows from anywhere! He looks nice, maybe I could talk to him!

You hesitate to say anything, trying to find a good conversation starter before you find the right words.

“Have I seen you before?” You turn your head to face him once again, waiting for his response, praying it doesnt become awkward and you’re just imagining things, you slightly fidget with your fingers hoping his reply is nice.

He turns his head to face you, he studies your face for a moment seemingly trying to remember who you are before speaking up.

“Oh, you’re the girl from the coffee shop right? Yes that’s right! I know you.” He softens his originally tense expression on his face into a light smile as he replies, probably not wanting to seem rude.

“Wow what a coincidence! Do you go to this university?” You ask out of curiosity, maybe he could be your first friend from here.

“Oh yes I do, that’s nice to know, it’s so funny that we ran into eachother at the coffee shop.” He replies, waiting if she had anything else to say, wanting to keep a gentlemanly demeanor.

“Yeah, it is… say, are you also waiting out the rain or waiting for a bus?” You keep a nice smile as he did as well, hoping he isn’t bored of you, or secretly wanting you to shut up.

“Oh, I’m currently waiting for the rain to go away, are you?” He asks to keep the conversation going, he slightly interested in you but he would never admit that out loud.

“Oh! Me too!” You chuckle slightly. “It’s almost as if the universe is pushing us together!” You turn your head away for a moment out of embarrassment for saying that and you notice the rain start to come to an end and return to a light sprinkle, might as well head to your car now since there’s no point in staying anyway.

“I think I’ll head to my car now… er.. I hope you have a nice day!” You give him one last smile and pick up your backpack, sitting up from your seat, you pause for a moment to see if he would continue the conversation or if he’s already done with you.

“Oh, ok then… maybe I’ll see you around campus?” Immediately cursing himself out interanally he sucks in some air from the embarrassment.

Your eyes light up lightly as soon as he says that but you remain neutral on the outside.

“Oh yeah maybe I will! Alright then, see you!” You walk out into the sprinkle of rain and speed walked to your car, you were quite excited to interact with him more, you hope you two can become nice friends, you desperately needed some either way, as all your friends are back in America.

You quickly opened your car door and sat yourself for a moment before going anywhere. Replaying that interaction in your head hoping you didn’t seem weird, but then again he did say see you around campus so it must be okay to talk with him. You turn on your car and drive back home to your small dinky apartment. You were quite tired after today for no reason at all, maybe because of how abruptly you woke up.

Eventually you get back home and straight after a relaxing shower you immediately jump onto your small bed and practically melt into a puddle, you were quite tired after today, but also excited, as you might have an opportunity for a new friend! As you lay you close your eyes and you fall asleep into a well needed slumber, wanting to get a good nights rest tonight for tomorrow.
