Summary
Sense and Übel should be opposites: pacifist scholar and intuitive killer, noblewoman and street rat, order and chaos. Forced to protect the city of Kobalt from beasts and conspiracy, they move from enemies to allies, from allies to something neither can name, while their pasts, hunger, trauma and desire surface.
Methode and Länge join the main plot in Ch.30; Marcille and Milliarde enter it from Ch.62 after earlier Elsewhere scenes. Fate will also bring Land, Falsch, Kanne and Lawine to Kobalt - driven by curiosity, unfinished business, old feelings, emotions they want to explore and the hope if being helpful.

Summary:Sense and Übel seem to be polar opposites. One is calm, efficient, and deeply concerned with people and life itself, following rules and respecting authority. The other is considered dangerous, does as she pleases, embodies chaos, and appears not to care about other people’s lives or feelings.
But after Land is incapacitated during a mission, Serie tasks Genau and Sense with continuing the quest — a decision that forces Sense and Übel to work together. Later joined by Methode and Länge, they are sent to rescue the wealthy mining town of Kobalt from an unusual surge in beast attacks.
Yet Kobalt is a city built on secrets and the forgotten echoes of a troubled past. The deeper they dig, the more Übel and Sense begin to see that they, too, carry things that might be better left buried. And the more they uncover, the harder it becomes to pretend this is only a mission.
Because the true challenge Sense and Übel soon face is not only what lurks beneath Kobalt, but the walls they will have to tear down between each other. A slow-burn story of scissors and veils — and of two lonely hearts slowly, inevitably, finding their way toward one another.
