Chapter Text
Daishou was tired but content. The wedding was everything he could have wished for. For starters, Mika hadn’t suddenly decided to leave. Not that she actually would, but he’d been so nervous these past few weeks and several of his nightmares liked to point out it was very possible.
Mika’s father, a rotund man who had taken approximately five years to accept him as a boyfriend to his only daughter (and would probably take another ten to call him son-in-law), threw an arm over his shoulder, his face showing that the alcohol bill would end up in the upper part of their budget estimates.
“Suguru, my boy. Excellent party. Excellent.”
“Thank you…father. I’m glad you’re having fun. Mika and I are very happy.”
“Good good. I must say, your friends are very generous. I didn’t imagine such a good turnout for you. Volleyball players and all. Come look, come look.”
Daishou nodded and smiled, even though he had no idea what his father in law was talking about. Certainly, he was sure his friends hadn’t been too stingy, but none of them were what he’d call wealthy. He let himself be pulled towards the donation table, where Mika and her mother were talking. Gods, he had the most beautiful and kind wife. He was so lucky.
“Ah, Suguru, look at this huge donation. I didn’t know you were that close.”
Daishou looked at the elaborate note. The sum was obscene and the card exquisite. The text made him scowl in a most non-wedding appropriate manner. .
‘From a happily married couple to another. Do give us a call if you need advice.’
