Chapter Text
When you first meet Midoriya Inko, you can’t help but think how oblivious and ditzy of a mother she is. Seeing her child bruised and hurt constantly and she just waves it off as nothing but play fighting with other children. To you, it’s painfully obvious that the child was being bullied or abused, it can't be the latter due to Inko’s cautious personality, you can’t help but feel bad for little Izuku for having a mother like that.
If you ask Midoriya Inko’s though, you’ll hear an entirely different story. You’ll learn how she had to take care of Izuku as a single parent while juggling job after job just to support the both of them. You learn how her husband abandoned her and their unborn child in the guise of buying more baby stuff. You’ll learn how she had to learn how to be a mother on her own as her own died the day her son was born.
You’ll learn how her son has an extremely violent best friend that constantly looks for a fight and dragging poor Izuku with him. You’ll learn that the blonde boy with an explosive personality never gets hurt while the little greenette gets the full force of the fights and the blonde boy would just hover protectively around him while Inko takes care of his injuries. You’ll learn that she takes care of her ‘quirkless’ son, knowing how the society in this day and age act when faced with someone that was different, that no matter how much you want to change how society sees children like Izuku, you can’t stop people from discriminating the weaker beings. You’ll learn to respect Midoriya Inko for understanding that she can’t change how other people feel, instead she takes everything in stride and heals every injury her son possessed. You can’t help but respect her for protecting her family and herself from further harm, knowing that if she tried to lash out about quirkless rights, not only will her son be in more danger but also her friends and herself would feel the backlash.
You’ll never learn though how she can’t save her own ‘quirkless’ son from himself.

...Few months prior...
“Stupid quirkless Deku!!!”
Outside a small pre-school in a loud and bustling city, a small green-haired child was being pelted with pieces of chalk and erasers by the other children as their teachers were ignoring them. The boy leading the torment was a wild blonde boy named Bakugou Katsuki. The green-haried child was silently crying as he was being laughed at, his name was Midoriya Izuku.
Unlike the other children of the school, Midoriya was quirkless, he didn't have powers like the other students so he was constantly being bullied by them. Bakugou on the other hand has just manifests his quirk a week prior but before it did, he was friends with Midoriya. But after realizing that Izuku didn’t have a quirk, he cut all friendly ties with him, seeing him as a burden on his path to being the greatest hero.
“Kacchan…please” Midoriya sniffed silently as he covers his head with his arms, a pitiful attempt to protect himself from the objects being thrown at him.
“Useless deku begging for help!”
“Quirkless loser thinking Katsuki’s his friend!”
“You're noting but a quirkless hero wannabe!”
Katsuki just scoffed as his group jeered at the trembling brunette. One of the bullies raised their fist, preparing to hit Izuku when Bakugou grabbed his fist and pushed him away.
“Kacchan…?”
“I’M THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO HIT HIM!!!” Katsuki screamed as he made a tiny explosion with his hands near Midoriya’s face to prove his point.
Midoriya just stared at Bakugou fearfully as he pointed at him. “Meet me in the forest outside the playground later got it Deku! I’ll make you Learn your place and if you won’t come I'm going to beat you tomorrow!” Was all Bakugou said as he walked away from the crying boy. The teachers just ignored everything that has just happened as it were a soap opera.
Midoriya was thoroughly ignored after as he stared fearfully into space

...Later during recess…
Little Midoriya followed Bakugou’s order and went into the wooded area of the preschool. There he saw Bakugou and his gang waiting for him.
“Look who decided to show up!” Bakugou yelled angrily at the free haired child.
“P-please d-d-don’t h-hurt m-me Kacchan…” Midoriya pleaded as his shirt’s hem was scrunched up between his tiny hands.
“Shut up Deku!” Bakugou yelled has he hit Midoriya with his explosions as the others just laughed behind them.
“Fucking fight back you Quirkless Deku!” He yelled as Midoriya just silently took the bearing he was given.
“FIGHTING FIGHT BACK YOU WORTHLESS IDIOT!” Bakugou then felt as his head hit the ground and something wet trickled down his head.

Midoriya was scared...
He has never fought back against Kacchan before…
Now Kacchan was lying in a small pool of blood, unconscious…
Midoriya was shocked into action when Bakugou screamed at him, he didn't realize there was a jagged piece of rock directly where Kacchan head now lies. Midoriya can hear the screams and cries of the other children as they went to get the teachers.
Midoriya was scared…
Not for himself but for Kacchan….
His eyes were wide open as he knelt down beside Katsuki and tried to shake him awake.
“K-Kacchan… Wake up…” He begged.
“I p-promise to listen t-to you from now on…”
“I-I’ll go g-get hel-” suddenly everything went black

The last thing Bakugou remembers before waking up was screaming at Deku. When he opens his eyes, he saw a mob of green and black hair in front of him. He angrily grabbed the back of the head.
“Oi Deku! Get off m-” he stopped I'm fear when he saw a red liquid pass through his fingers.
He suddenly remembers the pain before he fell down from Midoriya pushing him. He felt for any sort of wound behind his head and only found dirtied blood on his hair and a average size bulb on his head. When he looked over at Midoriya’s head though, more blood was slipping through the wide gash that wasn't supposed to be there.
He didn't want this to happen…
He just wanted Deku to understand that he can’t be a hero because he was weak…
He wanted to scare him to stop wishing to become one….
He didn't want this!!!
HE DIDNT WANT HIS FRIEND TO BE HURT!!!
The teachers ran to the boys as quickly as they can and the sight they was was shocking to say the least. Bakugou was tightly clutching the tinier boy’s body on his arms as he whispered apology after apology at the unconscious child.
“I'm so sorry Deku!!! I promise to protect you!!!” He cries into the tiny shoulder.
