Chapter 6: Why Are We Doing This Again…?

Notes:

If you were following me on Twitter and had seen that thread where I started to rethink that Delkira’s eyes might not be Irumean’s but Iruma’s. You’ll get this chapter. But if you haven’t seen that thread, you can go check here: https://x.com/XdImaginations/status/2077742504729022619

Idea was also of Delkira looking soft in his early days is inspired by [Authority of the Demon King by Alittlwweirdo]

Chapter Text

Eggy Sully was in his studies, looking at the albums of his grandson. With each turn of the pages, his smile grew wider and wider, admiring and talking happily to himself about how cute his grandson was. Then he started organizing the pictures because he was going to attend another dinner with the crowns, and he was again challenged by the two other geezers for a grandson album flexing. Planning to invite Belzebuth as the judge.

So, he started rummaging through his cabinets to find the other albums when he saw a very old album that was on the very bottom of the cabinet. He remembered that it was filled with pictures of Poro and Delkira in their school years. He remembered Delkira brought a camera and looked at the two and said:

“We’re filling these albums with our memories!”

To be honest, he was never fond of the two back then because of how unruly they both were, even if they were a top scorer during those days. Well, Delkira was more of a handful, but Poro is no better with his attitude. He picked up the album; it was covered with dust, so he had to pat it a bit before opening the pages.

As he expected, it was filled with him and Poro. Well, he was in the album too because Delkira keeps forcing the camera to his face or just randomly taking pictures of him without any permission. He sighed as he reminisced through his memories until he saw one particular picture.

It was Delkira with his front bangs tied up, fully exposing his face. When Sullivan looked closely, he froze.

“So, why did you invite me here?” Poro asked as he followed Sullivan to his studies.

He looked at Sullivan, who seemed to pick a photo from an album and gestured to him to come closer. He thought he was trying to show him another Iruma picture, but when he looked at it, he froze. They both stared in silence, their eyes still on the picture.

“Sullivan-sama, your hell grey tea.”

Opera said as they opened the door. They saw the two of them staring at the pictures. They seemed to be comparing something, but what?

Iruma just came back from school. “I’m home!” he said.

No one responded, which was weird, but he could hear shouting. His brows furrowed. Were his parents fighting? About what? Iruma immediately ran to where the voices were, their words getting clearer and clearer and-

“You’re lying! How can our son not be related to you!”

Iruma stopped in his tracks with a look of dumbfoundedness. He blinked, and his face turned unimpressed. Is his mama really bringing that up again? How long until he stops questioning it? He sighed as he stepped into the living room. There he saw his mama questioning his papa, who seemed overwhelmed and speechless; even his grandpa was there.

Well, that’s surprising. Usually his papa could confidently say that the both of them weren’t related. They had already done a DNA test many times. So why does he look overwhelmed now?

“Welcome home, Iruma-sama.”

He was surprised to see Opera there; they seemed to be holding something. Pictures?

He approached them. “What’s going on?”

Opera seemed to hesitate, looking at the photos, then back to his master.

“I believe you should look at this to understand.” They said as they handed over a picture.

It was a picture of his papa during his school days. What could there be-

Huh?

Iruma looked at the picture in shock. His papa…looked a lot like him. Like his face was exactly like his. He was speechless until Opera leaned in to whisper.

“Sullivan-sama had found this picture while he was organizing your photos to bring to the next dinner. He found this old picture and…” they showed another picture they were holding, which was Iruma’s.

“We’ve been comparing these photos non-stop. Needless to say, you’re more or less a carbon copy of your father.” They tilted their heads. “Iruma-sama. Are you really sure that you and Delkira-sama aren’t biologically related?”

How was he supposed to respond to that? Another thing. How was he supposed to know?!

Through the first few years of his childhood, even until now, he knew those idiot people were his biological parents. He’s also fully human. He wasn’t a half-born person like Ameri was. With evidence like this, he was even starting to question his biological relationship with his former parents and his papa.

Was he actually related to him? Or is it just a complete coincidence that the two of them were look-alikes?

And so. The house was filled with questions, denials, and maybe another DNA test again.
