Chapter 17: Raditz Returns Part 2
Chi-Chi was in the kitchen cutting various vegetables while a blue haired woman helped boil water on the stove.
Chi-Chi: Launch thank you for coming by and helping with dinner.
The blue haired woman smiled as she responded.
Launch (Blue): It's no problem Chi-Chi. I absolutely love cooking. I do have to ask, how do you cook so much food and not get exhausted?
Chi-Chi: I'm not sure. I guess I just love cooking for Goku and Gohan.
Soon enough, Chi-Chi spotted the group land on the ground and head towards the front door. Chi-Chi immediately put her utensils down and ran towards the door. As she opened it she was greeted by Goku, Bardock, Gine, Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, and Raditz.
Chi-Chi: Goku, you're back. I thought you all would be gone a little longer.
Goku smiled at her.
Goku: Let's just say everything was settled pretty quickly.
Immediately, Bardock and Gine grabbed Raditz and placed him in front of Chi-Chi.
Bardock: Chi-Chi, Raditz here has something he needs to say to you, right Raditz?
Raditz had an uncomfortable look on his face as he faced Chi-Chi.
Raditz: My name is Raditz. I am here to apologize for causing the death of your husband and kidnapping your son.
Chi-Chi realized who was standing in front of her and glared at him.
Chi-Chi: I know exactly who you are. Tell me, were you thinking straight when you did what you did? What made you think kidnapping a four-year-old boy was a good thing?! More importantly, who thinks that killing their sibling was a smart idea?!
Raditz flinched as Chi-Chi scolded him for his past actions. He looked to his parents but they turned away. He sighed as he realized he needed to set things right.
Raditz: Y-You are... absolutely right. I-It was stupid of me. I made a... huge mistake and ask for forgiveness. Not just from you but to my brother and my nephew as well.
Raditz bowed to Chi-Chi causing her to be shocked by his response. Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo were also shocked as well. Goku, Gine, and Bardock just smiled as they saw this.
After a few seconds of silence, Chi-Chi responded.
Chi-Chi: Raise your head.
Raditz stood up straight but felt concerned.
Chi-Chi: I'm not happy about what you did however, you've already had your own punishment for the last few years. I forgive you.
Raditz breathed a sigh of relief, only for Chi-Chi to glare at him again before continuing.
Chi-Chi: However, if you EVER put Gohan or Goku in danger again, I will make sure your return to the living world is temporary, understood?
Raditz felt true fear for the first time in his life.
Raditz: U-U-Understood.
Chi-Chi's glare transformed to a look of begrudging understanding.
Chi-Chi: Alright then.
Chi-Chi suddenly smiled brightly.
Chi-Chi: Please come on in everyone. Launch and I are making dinner and we're almost finished.
Bardock: Great, I'm starving.
Goku: Same.
Bardock, Gine, Gohan, and Krillin walk into the house as Raditz speaks with Goku.
Raditz: This is the woman you married Kakarot?
Goku: Yep.
Raditz: I can see why you married her.
Piccolo walked over to the pair before speaking.
Piccolo: Well Goku, I'll be taking my leave. I'll be back tomorrow for training.
Goku: Sure, take care Piccolo.
Piccolo nodded before turning to Raditz.
Piccolo: Try to be good, 'kay? I don't want to have to fight you after you just came back.
Piccolo began to fly away as Raditz scowled at him.
Raditz: One day Namekian, I will become stronger than you.
Goku: Come on Raditz, dinner awaits.
Raditz begrudgingly walked behind Goku and entered the house. The brothers sat down at the dinner table beside Gohan, Krillin, Bardock, and Gine with Launch walking up towards them.
Launch (Blue): Hello everyone, it's been a while, hasn't it?
Goku: Hey Launch, good to see you again. I thought you were looking after Tien's farm.
Launch (Blue): I still am. I just came over to help Chi-Chi for a bit. It's been a bit lonely since Tien and Yamcha decided to go train with a God. So you must be Goku's brother. Nice to meet you.
Raditz: Uh, nice to meet you too. I take it you and Kakarot are good friends?
Bardock: Yep, she looked after Kakarot for a while.
Gine: Launch is great girl especially when she sneezes.
Raditz: What happens when she sneezes?
Immediately, Launch had the smell of pepper fill her nostrils causing her to sneeze. Immediately, her hair color changed from blue to blonde. That wasn't the only thing that changed.
Launch (Blonde): Goku! Bout time I see you again. I haven't seen in over a month!
Goku: Sorry, I was busy getting my license.
Raditz: Her personality changed and her hair changed color.
Bardock: Yeah, that's just what happens with her. That reminds me, we have to tell what has happened while you were dead. It's gonna be a lot to take in so brace yourself.
Immediately, Gine and Chi-Chi brought dinner for everyone to eat.
Five Hours Later
It had been hours since dinner and currently, everyone was fast asleep but one person. Raditz stood outside of Goku's House contemplating everything that was told to him at dinner.
Raditz: None of this makes sense.
First thing he learned was that Frieza betrayed the Saiyan Race. Raditz had a feeling about that but to learn about it from his parents, who were still alive this whole time, was something he couldn't get over. He had suffered under Frieza's rule for so long, it was all he ever knew.
Second, Vegeta was still alive and refused to revive him. He expected that Vegeta would look down on him but to never consider him an ally after all of these years angered Raditz. To make it worse, Vegeta has gotten stronger after all that time and is getting even stronger through training.
The final news that he learned was that his father and brother have both become Super Saiyans. This one annoyed him.
Raditz: The legends were real.
Kakarot, the Saiyan who didn't even know about his heritage as a Saiyan and tried denying it, became the first Super Saiyan in a thousand years.
Raditz: His power was below my own the first time we fought and now he has far surpassed me. And to make it worse he defeated Frieza... first.
Then there was Bardock, his father. Who not only killed Frieza for good, but also defeated and killed Frieza's brother Cooler after becoming a Super Saiyan.
Raditz balled his fist. It was infuriating to know that his not only has brother and father gave gotten stronger but his mother, his nephew, his brother's best friend, and his brother's rivals have been getting stronger too.
Raditz: What am I to do now?
?: What do you think? Get stronger.
Raditz looked up to see Piccolo standing on top of the house and scowled at him.
Raditz: What are you doing here Namekian?
Piccolo: I came back to keep an eye on eye on you.
Raditz: I don't need someone like you watching over my shoulder.
Raditz began to walk away.
Piccolo: Tell me Raditz, do you want to stay weak forever or do you want to get stronger than your brother and Vegeta?
Raditz stopped and turned around to face Piccolo and see that Piccolo is right in front of him.
Raditz: W-What do you want?
Piccolo: You know about the threat of the Androids from Goku right?
Raditz: He mentioned that you all are training to fight them, Right?
Piccolo: There's more to it than that. These Androids are going to be a problem and we're gonna need strong warriors to face them. Your current power will only hold us back. That's why you're gonna train with us, starting tomorrow.
Raditz: W-What?
Piccolo formed a small smirk on his face.
Piccolo: Think about it. Your power will grow exponentially when you train with us. Besides, you're Goku's brother and Bardock's eldest son. You have the same potential as them to get stronger. However, it's up to you to want this.
Piccolo began to walk away.
Piccolo: Come get stronger by training with us. Who knows you'll probably become a Super Saiyan before the battle starts. Maybe, you'll even be stronger than Vegeta.
Piccolo began to fly away leaving Raditz standing by himself.
Gizard Wasteland
Goku, Bardock, Gohan, and Piccolo were warming up as they were preparing to train.
Bardock: I was certain your friend Krillin was coming here with us.
Goku: He wanted to train with us but decided to do some solo training instead. Guess it's just the four of us training today.
?: Make that five.
They looked to see Raditz land and ready for training.
Gohan: You came.
Raditz: Of course, I refuse to be left behind by you all. Regardless of how stronger you all are, I will catch up and surpass you all.
Bardock, Goku, and Piccolo smirked while Gohan smiled a bit.
Bardock: Then welcome to training camp Raditz. Hope you survive the experience.
