Fallen

Summary:

Poetry about Selina Kyle’s murder, resurrection, and transformation.

Work Text:

He looked like a gentle man

Fool- there’s no such thing.

His eyes looked soft

Up until you were falling.

Not figuratively - you’re not that weak.

Literally falling, the wind knocked out of you

As you plummeted, as you gasped.

Askew in the cold, sharp air.

YOU LET HIM HURT YOU.

You were a flimsy, stupid girl.

You looked up to him- you trusted him.

No one can be trusted.

Fading pain in your broken limbs

Until they brought you back,

A slim, sharp thing

Your feathers shed, you were a razor.

Your frilly pink house-

Messages from your mother,

A sad cliché.

FUCK SWEET, GENTLE, SOFT.

You will never show weakness again.

You will never let a man hurt you again.

You are sharp- you have claws.

MAKE THEM PAY.

MAKE THEM BLEED.

MAKE THEM BEG.

MAKE THEM WISH THEY WERE DEAD.

Then maybe you will stop feeling broken.

The pain faded when your eyes opened-

Now you wear a sick smile.

Let it be the last thing he ever sees.

It’s his turn to be afraid.
