Chapter Text
The next morning finds the two leaders standing before Rimuru in his slime form, “have you two come to a decision on staying?”
The prince answers first, “yes the Ogres are a waring clan, we have been known to follow another when we deem them strong enough, although we will only stay until the Orcs have been dealt with.”
When Rimuru turned to her, the princess didn’t need him to ask, “yes, we will also join, us Banshee’s have been looking for a home.”
“You can do whatever you want after, you can stay to build a nation or go on your way,” Rimuru reassures.
Both leaders take a knee and bow their heads with sighs, and the prince speaks, “then we and ours will follow you.”
it was only moments before they hear Rimuru, “raise your heads, thank you for excepting, please bring in the others.”
When everyone was standing before the slime, Rimuru smiles at them and looks from one end of the tent to the other, “I’ll give you all names to mark you as my subordinates.”
His words visually shocked everyone in the room, even if the two leaders had to fake their surprise, “to all of us my lord?” even though the princess told him about this the prince was still mildly shocked that he was willing to name all of them.
“Why wouldn’t I? Makes things easier, doesn’t it?” Rimuru smiled at his perplexed audience.
The prince eyed the Lord, “Are you sure?”
“Please don’t do this,” the Ogre Princess butted in, “naming someone takes a lot of power, and is very risky, and we are already strong.”
Rimuru smiles kindly at the princess, “it will be fine, no need to be worried about me.”
“But...”
Smirking, “Are you saying you don’t want to be named?”
“Well not exactly...”
Here the prince barged back into the conversation, “We except,” they didn’t need to have the Lord rescinding his offer because his sister was worried about him, which was fair, but he knew the Lord would be fine, as the princess had told him he would be, “it would be our honor.”
Giving a nod the elder Ogre nodded, “we will abide by whatever the young master wishes.”
Rimuru smiles in welcome and walks in front of the Ogre prince, “alright your name is Benimaru!”
He gains a glazed look to his eyes as soon as he said the name but continued down the line, a shared look with the Banshee princess shows what they both were thinking, their new lord underestimated how many magicules it would take to name them, and it was only a matter of time before he completely passed out.
The ogre princess became, “Shuna,” the elder, “Hakurou,” the large one, “Kurobee,” the blue ninja, “Soei,” and the purple warrior woman became, “Shion.”
Before he could continue, he made it to the Banshee princess but fell and reverted to his slime form, looking down at the dimmed mass of slime in her arms the banshee princess smiled softly and looked at her family and newly named friends, “you should go lay down, I will look after our lord, your transformations due to your new names will take a lot out of you, I will use the next three days to look for a way that he can name us banshees without the drawback of passing out for days.”
The newly named Benimaru waited until the last of the group left until it was just him and the princess with the passed-out lord, “if you don’t mind Princess, I would like to remain here with you.”
Blushing heavily the aforementioned princess carried their lord to his padded pedestal and placed him on it, before sitting at the base where she could protect him in his time of vulnerability, then she patted her lap and gestured for Benimaru to lay down, “I wasn’t being facetious Ben, you will be incredibly drained here soon, if you don’t want to leave, you should at least lay down.”
It was the prince's turn to blush before he said to hell with it and smirked roguishly back at her, and lay in her lap, “Ben? I like it, though if you wanted to be close to me all you had to do was ask Princess.”
Raising one hand to cover her furiously blushing face she took the other and lightly pushed at the head in her lap, “Your lucky I don’t have a pillow on me, or I would smother you with it,” she said lightly.
Benimaru snorted lightly and his speech was slightly slurred as he seemed to already be drifting off to sleep, “You would never actually hurt me Princess...”
The princess smiled softly down at the sleeping prince, “No, not even our lord would come before you, Benimaru.” She said these words softly so none could hear her, for these were words from her heart and not ready to be heard by others.
For the next three days the princess sat there as everyone waited for Rimuru to wake from his self-induced slumber, the first day she had the prince in her lap as she threaded her fine fingers through his hair as he slept.
The next day he awoke but didn’t move, neither pointing out that it was inappropriate for their current relationship.
The third day saw Benimaru and his clan walking through the village to get a feel for the land and how everything was set up, and getting a feel for the lord they chose to follow from the people's point of view, they had to admit that he seems well loved which spoke volumes for the slime.
As they made their way back to the Lord's tent, they could hear the banshee princess exclaim, “ah, Lord Rimuru, welcome back!” They quietly made their way inside as he questioned what happened.
“Lord Rimuru, I am glad to see you well, my name is Benimaru.” he said when there was a lull in conversation.
Rimuru looked at the new person in his tent, “Oh are you the young master of the Ogres?”
“Yes, though we have evolved into the Kijin because of the names you bestowed us.”
It took a moment for Rimuru to process everything he has been told before turning to the Princess to his side, “Then did I get to name the banshees?”
Smiling softly at him, “No my Lord, you made it through the six Ogres but fell into a recovery sleep before getting to us.”
“I see, well we can’t have that, please have the Banshees come back to the tent and I will get them named.”
Before they could continue or Rigurd could return with the rest of her tribe the princess spoke up, “My Lord, I don’t wish to overstep but we don’t want you to fall into another recovery sleep so soon, things will come to a head in the very near future and we need you awake for them.” seeing him getting ready to protest she plowed on, “there is something I should tell you before the others get here.”
Getting a nod from her lord she delved into the specifics of her abilities to see the future and what that will mean for the village, “I can’t divulge too much at once or things that need to happen will not come to pass, but I will tell you what I can when I can.”
Rimuru nods his head, “I understand, so what can you tell me?”
“Not a lot at the moment unfortunately, but I can tell you that if you give an hour between each name for me and mine you will not fall into a recovery sleep.”
Nodding again he goes to say something, but Rigurd comes back with the rest of the banshees, “I will name the Princess first if that’s alright?” getting a round of agreement he turns to her, “Your name will be Aurora,” after the flash of light he continued, “In my world Aurora means beauty, and I know some lore about Banshees, but I will say, you have the most beautiful, kindest soul I have ever seen.”
His words had her falling to her knees in tears, causing the rest of her family to follow her to the ground and pulling her into a ‘cuddle puddle’ as they use to call it as children, and all of them seemingly letting out years of pent up, repressed trauma and pain, once she had collected herself they all rose to their feet, and the newly dubbed Aurora bowing low, “Thank you my Lord, you have no idea what that meant to me.”
He smiled softly at the group, “I have a feeling and your welcome, as it has been nearly an hour, I would like to name the next,” getting another round of agreement he continued, pointing at the older of the two handmaidens with the white, blue hair, “Your name will be Lillian.”
This continued for the next four hours, the other handmaiden with orange hair receiving the name, “Penelope,” the older of the twin brothers with the reddish pink hair and good with a bow was named, “Gladiolus,” and the younger with the pink and purple ombre hair was bestowed the name “Lupine.”
