Work Text:
Mikey doesn't try to hide it. He looks at Takemichi with an expectant gaze, so Draken's already planning on how to accommodate the omega into their pack, because there's no way they're leaving without him. Mikey's eyes are dark with intent and possessiveness, a dangerous warning to others who might want the omega that he's staked his claim on.
"You're my bitch," Mikey says to the omega, and yeah, Draken's not sure they're off to a good start when the omega starts trembling and tearing up in fear when he looks up at Mikey.
There's pride and smugness radiating from Mikey, like he's won something priceless.
The omega shrinks away.
Draken sighs.

Takemichi expects his life to be hell as Invincible Mikey's bitch.
He believes that he's traded one tormentor for another more terrifying monster but surprisingly he's not ordered to grovel nor does he get hit like a punching bag out of sheer boredom. But Mikey stares at him with that look that causes a shiver to lick down his spine and his stomach to coil with something heated but he can't make sense of it. He decides to be safe, and not pay attention to it. If Mikey wants him to know something then he'll tell him, if the alpha wants to hurt him then he'd already done so by now.
Or so he hopes that's the case.
He can only live cautiously and stay on guard as he prepares for the worst each time he's called to do Mikey's bidding.
"What do you think?" Mikey asks as he tramples on the back of people he's kicked the ass of. He vaguely recognizes the boys, all of them bigger and taller than Mikey yet reduced to an unconscious pile under the alpha's feet.
Takemichi's mind is too distressed to make sense of the situation or figure out as bites back a whimper, wondering if this is a demonstration to warn him that he'd end up like one of those unconscious boys if he ever upsets Mikey. He's not sure if Mikey even needs a reason to beat someone up, he'd do it just because he can, and it takes him seemingly no effort to knock someone out with a kick.
"Well?" Mikey asks when he's been silent for too long, turning to face him with that heavy gaze.
Takemichi trembles and tries not to cry when he can literally think of nothing to say. What can he say, yes alpha I understand, or Mikey-kun please spare me? Because he's terrified out of his mind.
When the silence continues, Mikey starts to frown at him and he panics.
"Mikey-kun is alpha!" He blurts out and winces when he realizes he's mixed together his frantic thoughts; what if he gets his ass kicked for stating the obvious?
The alpha doesn't get angry though. He grins viciously, eyes gleaming like a dangerous predator. "Takemitchy, you better not forget that," Mikey says, and it's a threat. Takemichi knows it is.
"Yes," he squeaks out. As if he can forget that Mikey is an alpha when he's at the top of the food chain in their small world. If only he can run away and hope he's so insignificant that Mikey wouldn't even notice. The alpha will just replace him with another bitch when he realizes Takemichi is missing anyway.
His heart weighs heavily as he considers his options, and he keeps his head lowered in Mikey's oppressive presence.
***
Takemichi loses his friends because all his time is spent with Mikey who drags him away each time he tries to hang out with them. Eventually they stop seeking him out and he can't blame them, because he's pretty sure he might've done the same thing if he had a choice and Mikey is always glaring at them as if their mere existence offended him. But it hurts all the same to be abandoned by his closet friends. It's all Mikey's fault though, his presence causes Takuya to pale and shake, and even Akkun can't utter a single word while sweating. There's something about Mikey's presence that causes them to cower even worse than when they were with Kiyomasa.
Mikey is just too imposing and terrifying in comparison. After all, he had effortlessly knocked out their previous tormentor without breaking a sweat.
He thinks he's already had it bad when to that point, but somehow his life manages to get worse than that.
Naively, he'd thought he was growing accustomed to his new routine. Being in Toman wasn't as difficult as being Kiyomasa's lackey. There was no rough beating or commanded errands. All Mikey did was drag him around to places with his friends or just to be alone, the latter moments were awkward and tense on Takemichi's part. Mikey seemed to think everything was fun. He'd talked a lot and didn't seem to mind that Takemichi didn't have much to say in response. But when he was brave enough to speak, he was rewarded with the alpha's sparkling eyes.
It was akin to childish excitement. Something about that had Takemichi lowering his guard. He thought perhaps Mikey wasn't as bad as he initially believed.
Yet it seems like the universe wants to prove him wrong.
His life changing moment occurs at one of those Toman meetings they have at the Musashi shrine, but the place is empty besides Mikey when he arrives at the time he was given by Mitsuya to appear. Yet it doesn't seem like anyone else is showing up. It can't be that everyone else is just late while they're early.
But Takemichi doesn't have any sort of bad premonition. After tentatively warming up to the alpha in the last several weeks, he barely hesitated when he went over to join his new commander. Sitting beside Mikey on a step of the shrine gives him that strange feeling again in his stomach. The boiling of something not quite unpleasant.
The warmth radiating from the alpha's body from where they're barely touching also gives him this drowsiness that means he's overly comfortable. But he notices that the alpha is pensive, a serious look on his face not unlike when he's talking about gang business. His eyes are trained up at the clouds, and it's only then when Takemichi realizes that something might be wrong.
He's alone with Mikey right now, at supposedly an important meeting but no one else showed up.
Was Mikey going to kick him out now that he realizes how useless he is? In the past, it's all he ever wanted to be honest. Because he'd like it better to not have the attention of such a dangerous alpha and he could return to his old friends again, but there's something cold and heavy sinking into his stomach.
What he never expects though is for Mikey to ask, "What's your heat cycle like?"
"Why do you want to know that?" Takemichi asks as he looks at the alpha in mortification.
But when Mikey sighs impatiently it prompts him to quickly answer.
"My heats happen every three months, but I take suppressants so I only get pre-heat symptoms," he rushes out in one breath and clamps his mouth shut as he wonders at the possibilities.
Mikey is an alpha but he doesn't seem interested in omegas, and there's no way this is the form of torture he's chosen to put Takemichi through. He'd rather get beaten up everyday then suffer through whatever it is Mikey is planning to do with this information.
"I want to you to stop taking suppressants, I heard they're not good for your body. Instead just spend your heats with me," Mikey says, staring at him with that dark gaze and causing him to freeze up completely.
"W-what?" He asks numbly. He'd anxiously considered this happening once upon a time before he chose to trust Mikey, since he wasn't as cruel as Kiyomasa, but that still couldn't have prepared him for the alpha's command.
Stop taking suppressants?
Then Takemichi will have to go through the discomfort of his heats- no, Mikey said to spend them with him, which would help alleviate any of his more burdensome symptoms, however he's not ready for that.
He's scared.
And with that surfaces his old fear of Mikey, which he always felt deep down yet this further cements that as dread fills his entire being.
He needs to run away from this.
Mikey will get over it soon, he's probably doing this because he's curious about omegas or maybe it's just amusing to see Takemichi in dire straits. He'd always smirk at Takemichi's clumsiness around him, taking delight in his humiliation, as he laughed at him and told everyone how Takemichi made a fool of himself.
It was just entertaining for the alpha, he remembers. I'm his bitch. Why did I forget?
The rest of Toman is just as frightening to Takemichi, too. But they don't have the strongest impression on him like Mikey does, after all it's the commander that demands his time and attention so much. He rarely ever got to hang out with anyone else.
Draken would be there with them too, but he doesn't talk much unless it's to tell Takemichi about Mikey. Then he'd just chide Mikey sometimes and offer Takemichi whatever snack he has in hand. His treatment is considerate and almost gentle, and Takemichi had this one thought, if only Draken was here then maybe it'd be easier.
He's huger than Mikey and has a fiercer look, but Takemichi is more settled whenever the alpha is around, because he's the only one that Mikey seems to listen to. If he scolds Mikey for being too rough with Takemichi then Mikey will immediately let go of Takemichi and even give him a little bit of space before he latched onto him again with a softer grip. It was this that made Takemichi admire Draken, but he wasn't sure the alpha would be much help right now.
Draken is ultimately Mikey's friend. It won't matter if he'd actually been rather nice to Takemichi, if Mikey wants something then the alpha will get it in the end without much interference.
"Takemitchy?" Mikey's voice interrupts his frantic thoughts. The alpha had leaned in at some point and his face is too close so he can see his own reflection in the alpha's eyes. "Is that a no?"
"How is that p-possible?" Takemichi chuckles nervously, "of course if that's what you want."
Like he could ever dare to deny the alpha anything when he stares at Takemichi like that.
When he could simply break Takemichi into pieces with his bare hands.
But then he's completely stunned when Mikey smiles at him boyishly in response, actually looking beyond gorgeous.
And it's not like he's never noticed objectively that Mikey is attractive but he never had the chance to appreciate it when he had so much to worry about around the alpha.
Swallowing the forming lump in his throat, he averts his gaze bashfully yet his stomach is squirming with this strange feeling. Probably nausea at what's to come if he doesn't manage to escape.
Hopefully, he can get his freedom before then.
He doesn't.
But the opportunity to flee happens the morning after he's been fucked in Mikey's bed. The alpha is sleeping heavily with light snores as Takemichi slips out carefully, yet he hesitates for a moment when he stares at the alpha's face.
Mikey looks so serene and innocent when he's sleeping. So relaxed and less intimidating. Takemichi thinks he'd be more at ease if the alpha was like this all the time...but that was just an illusion. Sighing heavily, he wonders what he regrets more, sleeping with Mikey or not staying to say goodbye. Maybe having closure on what Mikey thinks of him after getting what he wants would cause any doubts of his to clear away...but he's not that masochistic. However his heart is stirred up and making him confused.
The alpha wasn't exactly gentle when he'd vigorously claimed every part of his body last night but it was the kisses he gave that had shaken Takemichi to the core. He didn't understand what to make of them. Of the sweet way Mikey opened him up and seemed content to just go at Takemichi's pace, yet it was still intense.
"Good bye," he whispers softly to the sleeping alpha, feeling like a fool.
***
Heartbreak is definitely not a good look on Mikey.
He's begun to gradually lose most of his restraint in fights, it was hard to pull him back from anyone he was beating up, and after that, the captains of Toman reached an agreement and decided to go on a hiatus. Plus it wasn't like they could focus on gang activities forever when there was an actual future to think about, with dreams and all to reach.
Mikey had to take a step back from being Toman's commander with the amount of times he almost crossed the line. However the brooding never seemed to stop even after moments had gone by, and introducing him to other people that may catch his interest the same way Takemichi did had proven to be the worst mistake ever.
The alpha had shamelessly scared away any blind date he was set on. Courtesy of Emma who only tried to make her brother happy again, yet she ended up having to apologize to those poor people that had cried after their meeting with Mikey.
But when all seemed to be meaningless, there was finally a glimmer of hope to be found.
Emma had been the one to find the omega by chance. Takemichi had unexpectedly returned.
But that wasn't all.
"Hey, Takemitchy has a kid."
They're all hanging out at Baji's apartment when Draken announces the news.
"Hah?" Mikey bolts up from where he was laying on the couch, his face taking on a dark look, one that made most of the occupants in the room look away with a shudder. Only those closest to him gave him an unimpressed look but only briefly because they were also shocked by the bombshell.
In the case of Draken, he sighs in exasperation and shows Mikey his phone screen. There was a candid picture of the Takemichi they've all grown to care about, except his hair was no longer bleached and it's loose in black waves. Draken won't ever admit it aloud, but he thought the omega was cute in the picture, he also looked healthy and happy compared to when he used to be part of Toman.
The omega was going a rough time when they first met him, so of course no one thought his wariness and skittish behavior was remotely related to them since they've treated the omega carefully and kindly, especially Mikey, who was all gaga over him. To the point that Draken had to advise his friend to tone down on the eagerness and the more proper way of handling a traumatized omega.
Takemichi's kid...was also strikingly familiar.
He hopes Mikey picked up on it since he didn't want to point out the obvious. It would've been insulting to do so.
Mikey narrows his eyes at the screen.
And Draken could see that the other alpha was obviously glued onto Takemichi, his face softening as his eyes darkened. They seemed to be glistening too. Then his eyes lowers as he examines the picture that was taken at the park by a passing Emma, who was so happy in her messages when she texted Draken about sighting her brother's first love, but Mikey's face turns blank when he regards the kid that Takemichi is smiling at in adoration.
Draken waits patiently but there is no other reaction besides that.
"Well?" He prompts. You have to he blind not to notice that the kid looked like Mikey. He was basically a miniature Mikey with black curly hair and round innocent eyes.
"Good for you," Mikey snaps, then turns away with his arms crossed. The alpha was basically sulking.
"Don't you want to meet your kid?" Draken asks because he didn't want to deal with this right now. He thought it was a rather confusing reaction but Mikey's always been prone to mood swings.
"That's not my kid, Ken-chin," the other alpha viciously says, and Draken had thought the alpha would actually be happy about this however that's nothing compared to the nonsense that Mikey spits out next, "now stop trying to show off your pup with Takemitchy."
"..."
Draken blinks in disbelief. He's not the only one. But no one helps him out here, they all turn away to mind their own business, even Mitsuya shrugs and tries to act like he's got more important things to do like the stupid card game he's playing with the others on the floor. But as commotion springs up from their friends after that, as if to dissipate the tense silence, Draken solely focuses on Mikey who looks like a depressive cloud in his own zone.
"What?" It's the only thing he can ask since he's seriously at a lost for words.
"I'm not blind or stupid. I knew about your feelings for Takemitchy," Mikey says crossly and starts to mutter under his breath about all the things Draken did for the omega; then: "you were obviously courting him and trying to steal him away from me. It's probably why he ended up running away in the end. He was torn up trying to choose between us, but he didn't want us fighting over him either. So that's why he disappeared."
"Uh, what?" Draken repeats, though not quite shocked by Mikey's dramatics. He has a strong feeling that it wasn't like that at all, the reason why Takemichi left was a mystery.
Because he only liked Takemichi as a friend. And if the omega needed help with anything then he'd be right there to assist without question but he absolutely wasn't in love, and he's never slept with the omega either. As he tried to explain this to Mikey, he was interrupted when the other alpha suddenly got up on his feet with a stormy expression.
"How old is that boy?" MIkey demands and Draken is relieved that the misunderstanding was resolved on its own.
"I don't know, I'm guessing two years old."
The boy looked like he was still a toddler after all.
"I can't believe this," Mikey says, sounding truly pissed and Draken has a bad premonition a second before the other alpha turns to him with a snarl. "You weren't even serious about him, were you? You can't even get the timing right if it was me- I'd remember the time and day."
How ironic, Draken thinks dryly.
Because Mikey obviously didn't remember shit.
"Didn't you spend your cycles together?" Draken asks, trying not to grind his teeth. He just doesn't like being accused like this. He's never once thought of hurting Takemichi in any way, and if he ever got someone pregnant then he'd take responsibility. But it wasn't like he was going around fucking people when he had Emma in his heart.
"Heh," Mikey gives him a smug look, (unnecessarily so because Draken isn't fighting over Takemichi, the omega has only ever invoked a protective instinct, okay), "Yeah I suppose we did, huh."
"You don't even know for sure?" He doesn't mean for it to come off as a taunt but there's something about arguing with Mikey that brings out that childish side of him, too.
As expected, the smaller alpha's face darkens. But surprisingly he solemnly says, "It was too good to be true for me, it seemed like a dream. One moment he was there with me in bed, but the next, when I became aware, he was gone. So what was I supposed to believe?"
That's actually very fucking sad. But sensing the right moment to clear the air again, because the boy in the picture was Mikey's no doubt, he opens his mouth with the intention of convincing his friend, but he was interrupted yet again, this time by someone else's voice.
It was Baji's coarse, "Just seems like he was very disappointed by your performance."
Draken is still for a moment before he pinches the bridge of his nose as Mikey immediately goes to tackle Baji with a sharp growl.
The tustle doesn't stop until after Baji's apologzied sheepishly for being insensitive, only then does Mikey come back to his senses. He sits back up, and snatches the phone out of Draken's hand to stare morosely at the picture with open longing and dejection on his face, and it even has Draken feeling suffocated.
"He's around the neighborhood, you know," he says.
"He doesn't want to see me," Mikey confesses quietly, "I definitely messed up the whole courting thing. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left me behind like this."
"I'm sure if you talked to him you can figure this whole situation out," Draken tries to console him. He's sure there's been a miscommunication somewhere, maybe Takemichi didn't believe that Mikey was serious about him.
It may have been obvious as hell to the rest of them, but the omega was overly cautious, he'd never really spoke up on his own either. He seemed like the type to keep his insecurities and doubts to himself.
"I'm going then," Mikey says, encouraged. His eyes have eagerly lit up too.
His genuine happiness right now is honestly a breath of fresh air. Draken wishes everything works out for the better.
"By the way," the blond alpha tosses over his shoulder when he's at the door, catching everyone's attention, "it was May 1st. At 7:00pm."
"What?"
"The day and time I fucked Takemitchy," Mikey says proudly then he sticks his tongue out at them.
