“So...?” Wei WuXian paused to see their expression. Which were curious about his next move.
He continued,
“Sworn brotherhood was a political move or a personal tie?”
“Wei WuXian!” Lan Xichen warned.
It was rare for Lan Xichen to call Wei WuXian's name. Which was enough to understand how angry he was. Even Jin GuangYao's facial expression changed for a second.
Wei WuXian, “Don't be angry sect leader Lan! I'm only asking because, from what I saw in the chifegzun's memories, he did not seem happy with this tie... specifically speaking, with Jin Guangyao.”
Lan XiChen swallowed whatever he wanted to speak. After all, It was true that if it wasn't for Lan XiChen, Nie MingJue would've never been sworn brother of Jin GuangYao.
At the end of the day, He was the one who forced them together. Which ends up with one becoming a murderer of another.
Wei WuXian continued with his quest, “If it was a personal affair, why did this person get political benefits because of that very tie?”
He points his finger towards Jin GuangYao.
“This person was selling books over here in this city until his teenage! Even after the assassination of Wen Ruhan, It was impossible for him to jump to the highest position in the cultivation world...”
“In just five years of span time, this person managed to sit on the highest position in the cultivation world!!”
Wei WuXian slowly clapped his hands with great amusement.
“On what basis? His cultivation? His contribution? Or your support Sect leader Lan?” He asked.
The answer was clear. Jin GuangYao's low cultivation and almost zero achievements except for the assassination of Wen Ruhan... He would've never been able to sit on that throne if he didn't have a strong backup of Lan Xichen.
Sure, He is the son of Jin Guangshan, but that thing wouldn't put enough weight to concrete his position. That's how the cultivation world works.
Wei WuXian wanted to laugh at their hypocrisy. On one side, despite being the strongest cultivator of Jiang Sect, Him becoming the head disciple was just a favour he received from Jiang Fangmian. On the other hand, the same people were hailing Jin GuangYao who evidently set on that position only due to strong backing.
And when everything went south, all of those hailing brigades started expecting Wei WuXian to pull them out from the mud... Mud in which they jumped on their own.

Wei WuXian spoke, “Or was it a political tie right from the beginning?”
Wei WuXian tapped his finger on this chin as if he was spactaculating.
Wei WuXian, “The cultivation world had just gone through War... It's understandable for the great sects to tie together to avoid another war."
Wei WuXian scanned the faces of everyone and then focused again on Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen.
He continued,
"If your purpose was so pure, why did you leave the Jiang sect alone?”
Jiang WanYin jumped a little at the mention of Jiang Sect. After what happened between him and Wei WuXian, He did not think that Wei WuXian would still favour him. Obviously, he will! After all, He is Wei WuXian. On the way to Justice, his judgement could never be clouded by his personal feelings.
Wei WuXian, “Isn't the contribution of Jiangs to the war was tremendous?”
Jiang sect was the one who lost everything in that war. And still, because of Wei WuXian, Jiang Sect was the largest contributor to the Sunshot campaign.
On the other hand, the Jin Sect lost almost nothing to the war. And their contribution was negligible as well.
Still... In the end, the war was the most beneficial for the Jin Sect with Minimum losses and maximum profits.
“Three out of four prominent sects are tied together... Obviously, all those minor sects would lean towards you! which, solely isolates the Jiang sect.”
Jiang WanYin remembers that time. How difficult it had been for him to handle the sect affairs. Finally, somebody spoke for the Jiang sect. But that somebody is none other than Wei WuXian!
Wei WuXian, “What was your intention if not cornering the Jiang sect? What was your motive if not giving birth to another war?”
Wei WuXian looked into their eyes,
“I ask you, Who was responsible for another war?”
After the war, despite losing his core and the strained relationship with Jiang WanYin, Wei WuXian tried his best to stay with the Jiang Sect. But the political immaturity of Jiang WanYin and all the rumours and slanders going on... Situations forced Wei WuXian to separate himself from the Jiang Sect. Which obviously weaken both, the Jiang Sect as well as Wei WuXian.
Jiang Cheng was left alone with nobody to support him. Meanwhile, the only safety cover that stopped people from taking direct action against Wei WuXian was him being part of the prominent sect. Once the safety cover was erased, he became the target for everybody to hit. Either verbally or physically. If that Was not enough, Jiang WanYin declared him as An Enemy Of The Cultivation World!
They cornered him to the point that he was forced to retaliate. As if they were asking for the war. How laughable it is that they claim to be afraid of him!
“Now please don't tell me that you were all afraid of me.”
He will not let them use this excuse to justify their actions.
“No, you weren't. You were afraid of Wen Rouhan! You never dare to whisper about Wen sect or Wen Rouhan even behind his back! You did everything to please him. You've always been cautious to not offend him. Do I need to remind you about water-born abyss sect leader Lan?”
Lan Xichen could not even speak the name of the sect at that time. Instead, he pointed the finger towards the sun to phrase it as Wen Sect!
“On the other hand, the entire Jianghu is filled with gossip about me. None of you ever hesitate to shout insults on my face. nobody cared before slandering or sprouting anything about the so-called Yiling Patriarch who supposedly revives the dead, move the mountains, sacrifice virgins and eats the children!” Wei WuXian exclaimed.
Wei WuXian, “These... Are not the signs of fear! Right?”
“Yes” nobody but Lan Wangji spoke in support. He had enough of non-sensical rumours about his beloved. The way storytellers sprout imaginative cruelty of Wei Ying... The way every tea and wine house has become a gossip point for the people of Big Mouth... Nobody ever dared to do such things to Wen RouHan!
“You all were well aware that I would not attack you! That, I would not harm any of you. That's the only reason I can assume the way you behaved with a supposedly evil and dangerous demonic cultivator who killed over five thousand Wen soldiers! Which is More than all of you combined! Or were you all seeking for your own death by behaving like that???”
All those pigs claimed again and again that he was dangerous. He was a threat to the cultivation world. But Wei Wuxian was sure of one thing, nor then neither now... They had never been afraid of him. They treated him like trash! Unworthy of everything... Be it respect, power or position. And people do not behave like that when they are truly afraid!
He waited for the answer but all he received was silence. After all their pride would never let them say that they were afraid of him (which is not true.) And their ego would not let them accept and agree to the Yilling patriarch.
Wei WuXian shakes his head.
He returned to the main topic, "Answer me sect leader Lan, why did the Jiang sect was left alone? If it was an age issue then, Young Master Nie could've been sworn brother of sect leader Jiang! After all, they were friends during their cloud recesses days! But obviously...You would only come up with such a solution if you truly wished for peace in Jianghu."
"Our bond had nothing to do with politics. Whatever you are implying Yiling Patriarch, are all false allegations." Lan Xichen states with frustration.
