They let silence overtake them, the only sound being Tommy’s sniffles. The hug is warm and comforting. Tommy savors it with every bone in his body, leaning into it by pressing his face into the crook of Wilbur’s neck and holding on even tighter, squeezing the man. Wilbur burrows his face into Tommy’s golden mop, and Tommy can feel his slight smile.
It’s been a long time since they’ve hugged, or had any affectionate interaction at all.
Tommy thinks he should smoke again.
