Bruce stood stiffly in the doorway, the line of his shoulders awkward rather than angry. He never had figured out how to naturally handle these kinds of things. “I think we should talk.”
In front of him were all six of his kids. For some inextricable reason, they'd lined themselves up in height order, and it made Bruce feel a little like he were in The Sound of Music. It was rare to see them all together at once, their busy lives taking them all over the city or even further, like Bludhaven or New York, but of course they would want to provide a united front now.
No one spoke, and Bruce sighed. “I'll take that as a 'yes', then,” he said, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “Who wants to volunteer? Alfred has promised a thirty-two percent decrease in your chores for the next two weeks, and approximately ten percent more of whatever baked delicacy you prefer.”
