Chapter Text

Final Chapter

Takemichi slams through the door that leads out of the garage, getting a small dose of satisfaction when it bangs into the metal wall with a jarring cacophony of sound.

“Takemichi just wait. Please man, don’t go.”

Takemichi is outraged—at Mikey, at this situation, at his own helplessness to do anything about it…but mostly at Mikey. That stupid fucking alpha, if he hadn’t sent Takemichi back none of this would be happening!

If he hadn’t sent you away, would this future still be perfect? Would all your friends still be safe?

Takemichi dismisses the thought with a shake of his head, clinging to his anger. Of course he would have figured out a way to save them! A better way!

Takemichi rounds on Draken, the alpha still dogging his steps as he begs the omega to listen. He pins him with his fiercest glare, beyond furious because Draken won’t tell him shit—at least Takemichi suspects Draken is being deliberately uncooperative. Takemichi doesn’t believe, not for one fucking second, that Draken doesn’t know where Mikey is.

“Draken—”

“I swear I don’t know where he is! Please don’t look for him,” Draken grabs Takemichi’s shoulders, “Please man, I’m beggin’ you, you don’t remember what happened to you, how do you not understand what a fucking blessing that is?”

Tears start to pool in Draken’s eyes and Takemichi’s eyes widen in astonishment, he’s never seen this alpha cry before. “It damaged you, fuck man it ruined you! Use your head for five fucking seconds! There’s nothing left of that boy we used to know, he’s like the flippin’ devil now—his gang has a thumb in every drug cartel, political scandal, prostitution ring, and homicide in the country! And Mikey—Manjirou controls them all! Every disgusting, horrific thing happens on his say so.”

Draken is clutching both the omega’s shoulders desperately, tears finally falling when he scrunches his eyes shut, “I’ll never forgive myself if I let you run back to him. He’s…a real monster, Takemichi.”

Takemichi purses his lips as he decides what to say, brushing the alpha’s hands off his body carelessly. Draken stinks of anxiety, guilt, and fear and Takemichi is at a loss on how to comfort him. He grips one of Draken’s shoulders and shakes him gently, trying to project assurance into his tone as he says, “I won’t stop until I find him, Draken-kun. I don’t care about what he’s done in the past, I don’t even care about the horrible stuff he’s gonna do in the future.”

Draken’s eyes widen in bewilderment. Takemichi feels the omega inside of him claw to the surface, all the fury, misery, and heartache of the past six months consuming him as he says, “That alpha is mine. I refuse to live without him. He’s mine to cherish and to love and to punish. I want him. He’s mine and I will tie him to me forever.” Takemichi coughs, his throat tickled by the low tone. He’s surprised by the vicious pitch of his own voice and blinks the darkness back before meeting Draken’s eyes with a flustered shrug, “I’m sorry, I—I don’t know how else to explain it to you.”

Draken looks at him like the omega’s been shot, his face pale, drawn, and grief-stricken. He looks at Takemichi like he’s already lost him and his voice is barely a whisper as he states, “Takemichi, for your own sake, I pray that you don’t find him.”

Takemichi takes the loss for what it is and decides he will shelve his friendship with Draken for the time being. As he dives headfirst into his search for Mikey, he stops answering the alpha’s texts and doesn’t pick up when he calls—He’ll reconcile with Draken later, once he has Mikey back.

He stops going to work, when he finds Mikey he’ll either stay with his alpha or die trying so it’s not like he needs his job anymore. He’s got a tentative plan in mind, but he won’t be able to set it into motion until he finds Mikey.

He still hasn’t decided what exactly he’ll do with Mikey once he finds him, his daydreams flip-flop drastically between ‘make love to him’ and ‘make him pay’ but he hasn’t really worked out the finer details yet.

He tries not to think too hard about the ra—on what Draken told him in the bike shop, if he thinks about it he starts to spiral, rage and heartbreak too potent to ignore—so he shelves that too, doesn’t think about what Mikey did to his past self, to him…he’ll deal with it when he’s face to face with Mikey.

The first thing he tries in his bid to find Mikey is to send a text to each of the captains. He wants information on Mikey, he frames it to them that he’s seeking closure for what happened to him. He tells them that he can’t get over it until he confronts Mikey for himself.

Pa flat out tells him that he doesn’t know anything and wouldn’t tell the omega shit even if he did. He tells him Takemichi won’t gain anything from speaking with Mikey and nothing good can come of seeing the alpha again.

Mitsuya sends him multiple paragraphs as a response, Takemichi is thrilled at first, thinking that he’s finally gotten some fucking information, but when he reads them it turns out that its just Mitsuya asking him if he’s okay and telling him to call him right now and then to please pick up your phone so we can talk. When Takemichi doesn’t respond, the texts turn into, ‘I talked to Draken, please don’t look for Mikey,’ and ‘he’s bad for you’, and ‘I’m in Milan right now but I can catch the first plane back,’ and blah, blah, blah. Its sweet but not what Takemichi needs.

Smiley, the asshole, just leaves him on read.

He thinks about texting the vices. None of them were close with Mikey but maybe he could get something out of them? He dismisses the thought almost immediately. After the display at the restaurant, Takemichi knows Chifuyu would rather chew his own arm off than help him find Mikey. Hakkai and Pey are also out since they both practically live up their ex-captains’ asses.

He scrolls through his contacts, dismissing each person as he goes down the list until he stops on one, thumb hovering over the name of a person he hasn’t thought about in a long time.

Hinata Tachibana.

He keeps scrolling and curses when he doesn’t seem to have her brother’s contact.

Hinata…had they kept in touch? Did they ever make up and achieve friendship like Takemichi had wanted?

Takemichi’s gut twists guiltily as he thinks, ‘more importantly, is Naoto still a cop? Will he know how to find Mikey?’

He’s a skeeze of the lowest sort, willing to use her to get to Naoto. He presses on her contact, bringing up their chat feed and jeez it’s even worse than he thought, they haven’t spoken in nearly five years, their last communication consisting of an obligatory ‘Happy Birthday!’ text.

He sighs, thinking ‘Man, I really am trash. Mikey and I deserve each other…’ as he types out a frivolous greeting to a girl he used to love above all else. She was the entire reason he started jumping back in time in the first place—his intentions really used to be so pure.

His heartbeat is in his throat as the little ‘…’ appears almost immediately. He’s never been so thankful that Hina was always a speedy texter.

Takemichi doesn’t waste any more time with pointless conversation. Mikey has always made him shameless.

Well what are you doing right now?

It’s a little late to go to a coffee shop…

Takemichi’s stomach drops. Fuck, he’d been too forward. What if she starts ghosting him and he’s lost his one link to Naoto—relief untwists the anxiety in his chest as the ‘…’ appear again.

It’s a little late to go to a coffee shop…

You can come over if you want!

Takemichi grabs a jacket with one hand as he texts back an affirmative with the other. His phone pings when Hina texts him her address and he heads out the door. He doesn’t even bother to lock up, just enters her address into his google maps to figure out the shortest route as he makes his way towards the train.

He’s giddy the entire train ride over, he finally, finally is making progress. Even if Naoto doesn’t live with Hina, she’ll know how to find him, everything will fall together as long as he plays his cards right.

It only takes him about twenty minutes to get to her place. Though he didn’t recognize the address, he recognizes the apartment as he walks up the stairs. Its the same one he woke up in when Naoto warned him about Draken’s murder. He hopes that means Naoto lives here as well.

He knocks on the door and only has to wait a few moments before its being pulled open.

“Takemichi-kun!” She smiles and pulls him into a hug. It feels nice and she smells good and Takemichi allows himself a few seconds to enjoy the embrace before he pulls away.

“Hey Hina-chan,” He grins, “Long time, no see, huh?”

She slaps him on the shoulder at the childish remark. “And who’s fault is that, hm?”

He scratches the back of his head, “Yeah you’re right, I’m sorry.”

Her gaze softens, “No need for apologies, I could have been a better friend as well. But there’s no reason to focus on things that can’t be changed, you’re here now so come on in!”

She steps back and he follows her in, she shuts the door behind him and beckons for him to follow her into the living room. “I just put the kettle on for some tea, or would you prefer coffee?” She motions for him to have a seat at the kotatsu.

“Tea is fine!” He tries not to let his impatience bleed into his tone. He really is happy to see her. She looks healthy and happy but he’s eager to bypass such superficial conversation and get to the meat of it.

She tells him to make himself at home as she leaves the room to presumably get the tea.

He anxiously fidgets with a corner of the kotatsu while he waits for her to return. He doesn’t have to wait long, she comes back not even five minutes later with a tray laden with tea and snacks.

“Sorry, its not much, but I wasn’t exactly expecting company tonight.” She says, cheekily.

He blushes and grins, “What can I say, I was excited to see you again.”

She returns his grin and they both take sip of tea in unison. “Shit, that’s good,” Takemichi says as he lowers his cup, “I’ve always sucked at brewing tea, I lack the patience,” He gives a self-depreciating shrug.

Hina nods, knowingly, “Well, the key to good tea is patience so if you don’t have that than I’m afraid you’ll always suck Takemichi-kun.”

He snickers, “You wound me Hina-chan, my dreams of being Japan’s gold-standard, brew-master squashed before they could even begin.”

She rolls her eyes at him but then her gaze softens imperceptibly, “Shame on me, for squashing such a worth while dream.” She takes another sip, after she lowers her cup she clears her throat, “How have you been, Takemichi-kun? I confess I’ve been worried for you over the years but I never felt comfortable reaching out since we had grown so far apart.”

Takemichi tries to keep his smile unchanged but it feels forced, “Oh you know, I’ve been doin’ okay. I get better every year,” He finishes, lamely. He doesn’t know what to say. He just got here six months ago after all.

“That’s good! It’s so funny how you texted me out of the blue. Naoto and I were just talking about you over breakfast the other morning. Nothing weird, he was just saying that he wondered how you were doing and asked me if I’d heard from you. The universe really works in such mysterious ways.”

“Y-yeah,” Takemichi squeaks excitedly, clearing his throat awkwardly as he latches onto this topic of conversation like a dog with a bone, “And how is Naoto? Do you see him often?” Does he live here, is he a detective still, does he know where my Mikey is?? Takemichi quickly muzzles his rabid thoughts.

“I see him too often,” Hina deadpans, “Since I quit my job he’s been letting me stay here while I look for a new one.” She sighs, “It’s so embarrassing, the big sister having to crash at her younger brother’s house.”

“Oh?” Takemichi tries not to seem too interested and aims for casual as he asks, “Is he here? And he didn’t even come out to say ‘hi’? How rude.”

He must succeed because Hina laughs, “No, he’s still at work. Hopefully he’ll be home soon though, he overworks himself, you know? I try not to nag him, I’m not his mom or his girlfriend, but I do worry sometimes that he doesn’t have any sort of life outside of work.”

Takemichi hums his agreement, “And what does he do?”

“He’s a police officer,” Hina says proudly.

Takemichi hopes his grin doesn’t look manic but he’s too fucking ecstatic to rein it in, he wants to ask her when he’ll get home but doesn’t want to seem like a creep. He steers the conversation into safer waters, asking her about her old job and why she quit, what sort of work she was looking for now, and so on.

They chatted amicably for almost an hour before Takemichi heard the telltale scrape of a key turning a lock before the front door was opening.

“It’s coming down like cats and dogs out there!” They both hear from he entryway, “I swear to god, channel six is never right! They ought to fire their meteorologist because they fucking suck—“

“Ototo!” Hina cuts of her little brother’s rant, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment at his coarse language, “We have company!”

“This late? Who—” Naoto cuts himself off has he rounds the corner and spots their guest, “Holy shit, Takemichi, it’s good to see you! You look good! Last time I saw you—“

Naoto!”

He clears his throat awkwardly, “Hey Naoto, it’s good to see you too.”

A tense silence descends on the trio and Takemichi desperately wracks his brain for an excuse to get Naoto alone.

“Well, its getting late…” Takemichi trails off lamely, thinking that maybe he can get Naoto to walk him out.

“Oh right,” Hina says in disappointment, “The time really flew, let me walk you out.”

Takemichi’s stomach drops in disappoint as he nods.

“How ‘bout I give you a ride? It’s really coming down out there.”

Takemichi can’t believe his luck! He whips his head up where it had been hanging dejectedly and nods excitedly, “Yes, hell yeah man that’d be great!”

Naoto smirks at him, a knowing twinkle in his eyes. Does he remember? Takemichi wonders. Hina follows them both to the front hall and they say their goodbyes after he puts on his shoes and grabs his jacket.

She hugs him before he leaves through the door, “Lets not go so many years this time, yeah?”

He grins at her and jokes, “Yeah just one or two this time shouldn’t be so bad.”

She rolls her eyes, smacking him lightly on the chest, “You suck.” She gives him another hug, practically squishing him with her she-strength, “I missed you, dummy.”

“I missed you too.” Hopefully I’ll see you again.

He follows Naoto out the door and then down the steps, his stare practically burning holes into the back of the younger man’s head. Once they make it to the bottom of the stairwell they make a mad dash for the car so they don’t get soaked.

The first five minutes of the ride are silent, just the pitter patter of the rain on the roof of the car to fill the quiet. Takemichi struggles to find words, practically frothing at the mouth to get his questions answered, but at the same time unsure on how to breach the topic. Does Naoto even remember my time leaping? He wasn’t my trigger the last time, I have no idea how this works!

Deciding just to go for broke, Takemichi blurts, “So do you remember anything or what?”

Naoto rolls his eyes and smirks, “Yes, I was wondering how long you were going to sit there with that constipated look on your face, dumbass.”

“Asshole—!”

Takemichi would have gone on if Naoto hadn’t raised his voice to talk over his insults, “You deserve it, I’m pissed at you! I remember you leaving Hina after your wedding, I can’t believe you chose Mikey over her.” Takemichi opens his mouth to respond but is quickly cut off once again, “Why are you contacting her? Mikey fucked you up pretty badly, are you..are you trying to patch things up with Hina?”

Takemichi chokes, “Er well, not in the sense that I’m trying to get back together with her,” At Naoto’s worsening glare, he hastens to explain, “I don’t deserve her after everything that happened back then!”

Naoto’s expression softens, “Well I don’t disagree but after what went down with Mikey in high school I feel like you’ve suffered enough so I hope you don’t feel like you needs to do like penance or whatever,” He finishes with a ambiguous wave of one of his hands.

Takemichi winces, wondering if he can go even two fucking hours without someone reminding him that Mikey rap—he cuts off that train of thought with merciless precision.

“Anyway, I’m sure you’ve got questions. I’ll try to answer them the best I can.”

Takemichi perks up, “So what happened to Mikey? I know what he did to me and I don’t want details but what happened to him afterward?”

“You didn’t press any charges if that’s what you’re asking. I don’t blame you, you were so traumatized I’m sure a trial would have just prolonged the torment. Toman sort of…fell apart after what he did. His friends were disgusted and as a result they deserted him, the gang unraveled without it’s captains, and then he just sort of vanished for a little while.”

Takemichi watches raindrops slide down the windshield in front of him, absorbing Naoto’s words. He doesn’t feel bad for Mikey, he earned that abandonment after what he did.

A few moments pass where neither of them say anything, but then Naoto continues, “About a year later rumors started flying around about a new gang that had sprung up to fill the vacuum left by the Black Dragons. A new gang that had a merciless, unbeatable leader—anyone that stood up to them was either destroyed or consumed. In about five years Bonten, that’s what they called themselves, had gained exclusive control on the entirety of the Tokyo underworld.”

Bonten, Takemichi’s mind latched onto the name. He finally, finally had a lead.

Naoto sighs, “So he’s a notorious crime boss, like he is in every timeline. With as many changes you’ve made that one seems to be the constant.”

“Where exactly is he, Naoto? Where is Bonten’s base of operations? You must know!”

Naoto blinks swiveling his head back and forth between Takemichi and the road in bewilderment, “Why on earth do you want to know that?”

Takemichi bites his lip, should he lie? No, that seems counterproductive, and what lie could he possibly tell that would be believable? “I’m going to confront him Naoto, for what he’s done. I’m going to knock some sense into him!”

Naoto laughs but then does a double-take when he realizes Takemichi is serious. He pulls the car over and throws it into park so he can twist in his seat and face Takemichi head-on, “Have you lost your mind? He’s—you—I don’t even have the words to describe how insane that sounds!”

Takemichi bites his tongue, beyond fed-up with Naoto’s patronizing tone, “It’s something I need to do, I don’t expect you to understand.”

“Well that’s great because I don’t understand, what exactly are you going to say, huh? What even can you possibly say to a demon and expect him to hear you? He’ll kill you before you can even open your mouth. Or worse, Takemichi.”

Takemichi doesn’t need for Naoto to go into details on what he means by ‘or worse.’

“Like I said, I don’t expect you to get it!” Naoto rolls his eyes, like Takemichi is—like he’s some sort of child. Burning annoyance twists and writhes in the omega’s chest as he demands, “Are you going to help me or not?”

Naoto looks at him, an open, dumbstruck expression on his face as he answers in the most condescending voice, “Yeah, no. I’m definitely not going to assist you towards your own sexual assault and murder.”

Takemichi unbuckles his seatbelt, flings his door open, and gets out, “Takemichi wai—!” He slams his door before Naoto can say another word and takes off. If Naoto is going to treat him like a child then fine, he’ll act like one.

He sprints through the city, getting completely soaked to the bone. He doesn’t stop until he’s a couple blocks from his apartment where he leans against a back alley wall and screams his frustration out. He turns and kicks the wall a few times but only succeeds in getting a sore foot for his trouble.

Fuck Naoto. Fuck him, and Draken, and Mitsuya, and Chifuyu and just FUCK EVERYONE.

He trudges forlornly the rest of the way back to his apartment. No point in rushing since he’s already sodden.

He sighs as he opens his door, whispering a sad little ‘tadaima’ to himself as he kicks off his shoes in the front hall.

“Welcome back!” An agitated voice greets him from inside his apartment. The lights click on and temporarily blind him, “We were worried sick, asshat. You no-called, no-showed at work. You’ve never done that before! Big red flags, motherfucker!”

His eyes take a moment to adjust but when they do his stomach drops as he recognizes the pink haired speaker. Shit it’s that psycho that murdered Draken and Chifuyu in the previous timeline!

“Sanzu, shut the fuck up for a second.” A monotone voice chimes in, and Takemichi spins around and his heart jackrabbits in his chest when he spots two more people that he hadn’t even noticed, being too preoccupied with the cotton-candy colored murderer lounging on his futon.

Deciding to play dumb, Takemichi goes for a smile, “Ah sorry, do you work for the rental store? My apologies for not calling out, I had a family emergency, you see.”

One of the purple haired men whistles, “Wow, would you look at that, he can lie. I’ve never seen him do that before, have you, little brother? You’re so full of surprises this week, omega-chan~”

Irritated with having his bluff called so quickly, Takemichi decides to participate in this little game instead, “So Bonten owns the video store? Can’t imagine there’s much money in it."

The two brothers sport matching grins at his rebuttal, however, the pink-haired man, Sanzu, clicks his tongue in annoyance, “Of course we own the video store, how else would it still be in business if it wasn’t a laundering front for the mafia? Its 2019 for fuck’s sake, who fucking still rents movies and doesn’t just stream them or rip them from the internet?”

Mikey keeps tabs on me, the realization causes warmth to burst forth from his chest and he has to bite his tongue in order to stop himself from fucking purring in happiness.

He makes his way past the interlopers and into the kitchen, “If you don’t mind, I’d like to change my clothes, I’m freezing.”

Sanzu makes a shoeing motion before he drops back down onto the futon, fishing a baggy of white powder out of his pocket. Takemichi doesn’t stop to see what he does, just heads to his bedroom and quietly shuts the door behind himself.

He quickly changes out of his sopping clothes, gives himself a perfunctory wipe down with one of his bedsheets and pulls on the first t-shit and sweatpants he gets his hands on. He’s terrified that they’ll leave and that he’ll lose his best chance of locating Mikey.

He needn’t have worried, they’re all in the exact same spots he left them in when he disappeared into the bedroom. He clears his throat to get their attention, “Erm, can I get you all anything? Tea? Coffee?”

“Holy shit, he’s a fucking weirdo.” One of the brothers says to the other in a stage whisper.

“I don’t know, it’s sorta cute.” The other responds in the same tone.

With a loud sniff, Sanzu finishes snorting whatever drug he’s doing off his coffee table and sits up. “Wooo head rush. All right, let’s go report back to Koko. I can’t wait to see his face when he realizes he was being a lil’ bitch for no reason.”

They all collectively rise to their feet. “W-wait!” They all look at him like he’s insane, “Can I come?”

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Sanzu asks Takemichi, before the omega can answer he turns to the brothers, “Am I tripping right now, or did he just ask to come with us?”

“P-please!” He bows at the waist in a perfect ninety degree angle. “Please take me to Mikey-kun!”

“What the fuck, no!”

“Aww please Sanzu, let’s take him! Look at him, he looks like he’s gonna cry!”

“Who cares! We shouldn’t have even made contact, king is going to be pissed! Fucking Koko.” Sanzu spat.

Takemichi straightens as they continue to argue amongst themselves. He walks into his kitchen and fishes a knife out of one of the drawers.

“Yo!” He yells, to get their attention, brandishing the knife so they can see it perfectly.

“What the fuck you gonna do with that?”

He maintains eye contact with Sanzu and raises the knife to his throat. “Oi, what the fuck are you doing?”

He grins at their flabbergasted expressions. He probably looks deranged, smiling from ear to ear with a knife pressed to his own throat,“If you don’t bring me to Mikey-kun, I will cut myself up. He seems invested in me and might be mad if you let that happen.”

Sanzu growls as he approaches the omega and Takemichi could laugh, compared to the other alphas in his life the pinkette sounds like a ruffled kitten. Sanzu stops right in front of Takemichi, “What’s to stop me from just taking that knife from you? What will you do then.”

Takemichi’s expression doesn’t drop, “You can take this knife, hell you can even take all the knives I own but that’s not gonna stop me. There’s loads of stuff I can injure myself with and I promise you I will. And in my blood I’ll write, ‘I did this because of Sanzu.’ I’ll write that over and over until I pass out from blood loss. It’d be less trouble for you if you’d just take me with you, hm?”

Sanzu snarls but Takemichi just laughs in his face because they both know its the omega who’s won. He keeps laughing until Sanzu strikes forward and then all Takemichi sees is black.

He awakens to light slapping on his cheeks, his head throbbing and filled with cotton.

“—gaki? Oi Hanagaki, wake the fuck up!”

The voice comes to him like he’s underwater and he groans when bright light assaults his eyes and causes his headache to worsen.

“Sanzu why the fuck are you so stupid. He looks like he’s been hit by a truck.”

Takemichi recognizes that voice, he sits up quickly, startling the man that was bent over him, “Izana-san!” Takemichi trails off as he gets a mighty head rush from the sudden movement.

“Jesus you’re green, if you vomit on me I’ll punch you right in your fucking face, I don’t care how concussed you already are.”

Takemichi grins at the alpha, even has is vision swims, If Izana-san is here Mikey-kun can’t be too far away!

“Wipe that creepy smile off your face, mutt. You’re a real pain in my ass, ya know? I had a few blissful years without having to look at your ugly face but now here you are, back again to fuck up my life.”

When Takemichi does nothing but continue to grin stupidly as he’s still attempting to organize his scattered thoughts, the alpha continues, “Well? You’ve been causing trouble all week, forcing me to sacrifice my valuable time to deal with you, you've blackmailed my men into bringing you here, and now you’ve got nothing to say?”

“M-Mikey-kun!” Takemichi blurts, “I need to talk to him.”

Izana rolls his eyes, “Yeah I kind of figured that one out for myself, peasant. Why do you wanna talk to him? Its been years now and last time I saw you, you were terrified of him.”

Fed up with the treatment and with this day in general, Takemichi sing songs, “I don’t have to explain myself to you~” There’s a few impressed whistles from the peanut gallery that Takemichi hadn’t been aware of until right that very moment.

If looks could kill he’d be so very dead, luckily Izana hasn’t mastered that particular skill. “Fine, get up and I’ll take you to him.”

Takemichi scrambles to his feet, wobbling for a second before he regains his balance. Izana snorts unattractively at the display, “He’s gonna chew you up and spit you out. Try not to fuck him up too badly this time.”

Me fuck him up?” Takemichi says incredulously as Izana turns on his heel and marches away. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” Takemichi mutters to himself as he follows.

There are quite a few people watching this exchange, but Takemichi only recognizes Sanzu and the pair of brothers. As he walks by them the purple haired duo give him the thumbs up signal and one of them mouths ‘You’re doing great.’

Takemichi hastens his steps to catch up to Izana who is already boarding an elevator at the far side of the room, he barely makes it through before the doors shut. Izana hits the button for the top floor,  before giving Takemichi a dirty look, “You look disgusting.

Takemichi gapes at him, “I’m concussed.”

Izana ‘tsks’ and pointedly turns away. Takemichi massages his temples with his pointer and middle fingers, willing his headache to go away, and unsure if its truly from the headshot he took earlier or the aggravating man beside him.

They must be on one of the bottom floors because it takes them a long time to get even halfway to their goal floor. Once they break floor thirty, Takemichi gasps as light comes flooding  into the elevator as they’re treated to a perfect view of the Tokyo skyline. The elevator shaft is lined with the cleanest glass Takemichi’s ever seen and his breath is stolen by the gorgeous view before him. It takes his mind off of everything, for a few minutes at least.

Once they have ten floors to go, Izana finally speaks again. “I’m serious, if you hurt him I’ll kill you.”

“Then you better kill me,” Takemichi side eyes him, licking his dry lips, “because I plan to hurt him.”

Izana doesn’t respond, doesn’t even look over at Takemichi and they spend the rest of the ride in utter silence.

When the elevator finally stops on floor fifty, Takemichi’s heart is beating so fast he feels like he’s about to vibrate out of his very skin. The doors open on a lavish penthouse, scarcely decorated and dimly lit, though Takemichi barely pays any attention to his surroundings as his complete focus is immediately seized by the man standing on the far side of the room.

Mikey is facing away from him as the alpha gazes through the floor to ceiling windows that take up an entire wall of this penthouse. The lights of Tokyo cast him in striking profile, his shoulders broad—much, much broader than when they were teens. Takemichi can make out the corded muscles of his blackout, tatted forearms, the muscles bulging as his alpha clenches his hands together at the small of his back, his spine straight and posture tense. His hair is dyed silver to match his brother’s.

“Go.” Fuck, his voice. Definitely not the voice of a sixteen year old anymore. It’s deep and vibrates down Takemichi’s spine, making the omega feel like he’s riding a motorcycle. No hint of an alpha command in its inflection but an undeniable order all the same. He doesn’t turn as Izana sighs, giving Takemichi one more threatening glare that the omega ignores before the elder alpha allows the elevator doors to slide shut behind Takemichi.

When Mikey still doesn’t turn to face him, even when they both know they’re completely alone, Takemichi takes a few hesitant steps forward. His voice cracks when he whispers, “Mikey-kun…I’m back…” He can feel tears well in his eyes, it feels like its taken a lifetime just to get here. Time moves in slow motion as Mikey finally turns to look at him.

“Hello Takemitchy, welcome back.” The moonlight casts Mikey’s face in shadow, and Takemichi smiles when the alpha says his name, the nickname laced with fondness. “I’ve missed you.”

Like cold water has been dumped on him, Takemichi feels all warmth in his blood freeze, he feels his face morph into a snarl as he growls, “You fucked up, Mikey.”

Mikey steps away from the window, the shadows clearing from his face as he gets closer to Takemichi. He stops when they are two feet apart, his face is emotionless as he responds, “I know.”

Takemichi doesn’t respond, instead choosing to sweep his eyes down the figure before him. The blackout tats start above Mikey’s elbows, extending all the way down his forearms and ending at his finger tips. The rest of his upper arms are intricately tattooed, the designs expanding over his shoulders and onto what the omega can see of the alpha’s chest. Takemichi realizes with a start that the tattoos are very similar to that of the black haired Mikey he met in the other timeline.

“Your scent—” Mikey cuts himself off with a huff, eliminating the space between them with just a few steps. He stops right in front of Takemichi, his nostrils flaring as his dark eyes peer down at the black haired omega. Fuck and he really is looking down at him now, isn’t he? The slight height advantage Takemichi used to have on the alpha as teens now gone.

He watches the alpha’s nostrils flare again and Takemichi suddenly understands, with a rush of embarrassment, that he’s been scenting up the place with his desire as he’s eyed Mikey up. He narrows his eyes into a glare, jabbing the alpha in the chest with a finger, pointedly, “Ignore that, I’m pissed at you Mikey. You absolute fuck, how could you send me back!? How could you do that to me!”

Mikey’s expression doesn’t change, it remains a cold mask, and Takemichi can’t tell what he’s feeling at all. “You were in my way. You were going to be a nuisance to bypass and I didn’t want you to get hurt trying to save people who didn’t deserve it.”

“That wasn’t your choice to make, Mikey!”

“Why not? Why is your way the only right course to take? I eliminated Taiju and when I was done with him I eliminated Kisaki. People can’t be threats if they’re dead, doll.”

Mikey’s head cocks to the side as he scents the omega’s desire on the air again. Takemichi can’t help it, okay!? Its felt like years, it has been years, since Mikey’s called him that! It’s embarrassing but that term of endearment has always turned him on.

“That’s not the point! It’s not about which one of our methods is the right one! Its about the fact that you fucking took my autonomy from me! And then, when you didn’t like the consequences of your actions you—” Takemichi squeezes his eyes shut unable to look at the alpha in front of him as he finally voices what was done to him, “you fucking raped me, you piece of shit!”

Takemichi keeps his eyes shut, shoulders up by his ears and hands clenched at his sides as he waits for a response.

“I have done so many horrible things in my life…” Mikey’s voice is so soft, Takemichi opens his eyes but doesn’t dare raise them to meet the alpha’s, instead he chooses to stare down at his own feet, “I’ve killed and tortured, felt contentment as I’ve bludgeoned men to death with my bare hands,” Takemichi audibly gulps, eyes wide, and breath picking up at the alpha’s emotionless tone, “I’ve set fires and trafficked drugs, trafficked guns, trafficked people and yet,” Mikey’s hand curls around his neck, using a thumb to tilt Takemichi’s chin up so that their eyes can meet, “And yet my only regret is what I did to you.”

Takemichi feels tears overflow and he begs, “But why did you do that to me!? If the bites weren’t taking why not just wait for me!?

Mikey’s eyes are deep and dark and fathomless as the night sky—they swallow Takemichi whole as the alpha responds, “I’m selfish, I’m impatient, I thought that if we bonded, and he could feel how much I love you, he would stop being so afraid of me.” Mikey presses his forehead to Takemichi’s, so they can stare at each other up close, “He was so afraid of me. I couldn’t stand it, not after being so spoiled by your unconditional affection. I thought that with the bond, he would grow to love me too, love me despite the darkness inside me, like you did.”

Takemichi is sobbing now, hanging onto Mikey’s every word and clutching onto the front of the alpha’s tank top like his life depends on it, “But he rejected me, that first time my bite healed, I think it broke me. I knew I was losing him, and by extension I was also losing you too, and I became so desperate—I’ve never felt such a frenzied desperation, not when Shin or Baji died not even when I dropped,” Mikey laughs, but it’s a hollow sound.

Mikey shuts his eyes, emotion finally leaking into his voice and pain obvious on his face. He takes a breath and reopens his eyes, removing his forehead from Takemichi’s, and gently cups the omega’s face between his large palms, “I used my contacts to get heat inducers,” His voice drops dangerously, “And I decided that if he wouldn’t accept me willingly, I would make him.”

Takemichi hiccups on another sob and Mikey uses his thumbs to brush away his tears, “I don’t want you to misunderstand, when I say I regret what I did to you, I regret sending you back to the future,” Mikey whispers between them, lips scant centimeters apart, “I don’t feel remorse for what I did to your other self, even though it didn’t work like I wanted it to—and it would’ve if Chifuyu hadn’t shown up—it still served the purpose of ruining you for other alphas. He tucked himself away from everyone, safe and sound, so you could return to me.”

“Bastard!” Takemichi yells, slapping Mikey’s hands from his face, “You absolute—”

“Are you afraid of me now too, Takemitchy?”

“Shut the fuck up, you know I’m not.” Takemichi feels like crying but not out of fear, or anger, or sadness but because he still doesn’t care. He knew he was messed up, was certain of it after realizing that Mikey could do such monstrous things in each timeline and still Takemichi’s love for him did not waiver.

After he found out about the rape, he’d hoped that Mikey would provide him an excuse something—anything—that would justify the alpha’s behavior enough so the fact that Takemichi’s love still hadn’t changed, would no longer matter.

He supposes he never considered that Mikey wouldn’t provide him an excuse. Mikey doesn’t regret raping me and I still don’t care. My feral love for him remains unchanged. We really are a perfect match, I’m just as crazy as he is. He feels hysterical laughter bubbling in his throat but he strangles it before it can make it past his lips.

Mikey grins at him, its a terrifying expression, and truly something must be wrong with Takemichi because all he feels is excitement, “Oh? Even after everything? How brave, Takemitchy~”

Takemichi grabs the front of Mikey’s shirt to haul him close and snarl in his face, “I said shut the fuck up! You’re not forgiven but—but” The omega growls, shaking the infuriating alpha back and forth, becoming even more frustrated when the tank of an alpha barely budges, “but you’re mine, you hear me you twisted piece of fuck!? You’re mine, you’re mine, YOU ARE MI—”

Mikey crashes them together. It’s vicious, how they kiss. Biting and feral. No sweet reunion just two beasts coming together in a bloody fight for dominance.

Takemichi breaks their kiss first, biting at the alpha’s lips until they bleed before moving back some inches so he can tear at his alpha’s shirt, easily ripping the flimsy fabric.

“Fuuuuck,” The omega groans, rapture evident in his tone as the runs his hands up and down tattooed, muscled flesh, he can’t take his eyes off of his alpha’s abs or chest, “you look like a fucking Greek god, what the fuck.”

Mikey laughs, it’s a surprisingly bright sound, and uses the new space between them to rid the omega of his own shirt.

Mikey twists the shirt when it gets above the omega’s head, twists it so its tangled around the omega’s wrists and then forces Takemichi up onto his tip toes as Mikey stretches his arms up high above his head. Mikey arches the omega back and then keeps him there, running his free hand down the younger man’s chest, tweaking is nipples teasingly.

“You are so pretty, my beautiful doll.”

Takemichi flushes, both pleased and embarrassed at the compliment, “S-stop fucking around, asshole. I’ve waited long enough.”

Mikey hums in agreement, taking a moment to lick and bite at his chest before releasing Takemichi’s wrists from their cloth prison.

It’s not fair, Takemichi thinks as he’s manhandled onto his front right there on the penthouse floor, Mikey has several pounds of muscle on him so the omega never even stood a chance in this fight.

Mikey holds him down, fondling the omega’s asshole through his pants, “You’re already soaked~ are you feeling pent up, Takemitchy?”

Takemichi grinds is forehead into the floor, frustrated beyond belief, “How could I forget how annoying you are? Seriously Mikey, get the fuck on with it.”

Mikey laughs again, the sound like rusty gears that haven’t been used in ages, “And I remember how tsundere you are, come on baby be sweet for me~”

Takemichi turns his head to glare over his shoulder, barbed words on the tip of his tongue, but the words are lost to him the second he sets his eyes on his alpha. Mikey is leaning over him to better hold him down, so Takemichi has a perfect view of his face. His eyes are alight with boyish playfulness, his face warm and open, and a pleased flush has spread all the way down his neck. He looks just like his sixteen year old self in this moment and it robs Takemichi of all his harshness.

“P-please,” Mikey freezes, and Takemichi’s eyes fill to the brim and his lip wobbles as he continues, completely sincere, “Please, please fuck me Mikey-kun,” He sobs, his breathe catching in his chest, “I’ll be so good, alpha, so please, Manjirou, I need you so bad.”

“Fuck,” Mikey bites the word out harshly between his teeth, wasting no more time as he rids them both of the rest of their clothes. He releases Takemichi’s wrists to he can hike the omega’s hips up and spread his cheeks. The omega screams as the alpha starts tongue fucking him immediately. No playing, no teasing, just slick, flexible heat forcing his insides apart.

Takemichi bites his hand so hard it bleeds in an attempt to muffle the noises he’s making, but he doesn’t do a very good job, he unclenches his jaw on a gasp—saliva and blood pooling into the perfect duel imprints he’s made with his upper and lower teeth.

Mikey pulls back on his assault, pushing two fingers into the omega and fingering him instead, “You’re making a mess,” Whether he’s talking about the slick running down the omega’s thighs, the precum dripping from his cock, or the blood dripping from his hand, Takemichi has no idea.

The omega just laughs in response, because the alpha is trying so hard to sound nonchalant but he’s out of breath and when Takemichi checks over his shoulder he can see that Mikey’s pupils are blown wide and alpha-red rimmed. It makes Takemichi grin stupidly at how affected the alpha is.

“Turn around, I wanna see you when we fuck.” Takemichi moans, quickly turning onto his back.

Once he’s supine, he reaches for the alpha with his arms and legs, hooking both sets of limbs around the alpha to draw him close. Mikey resumes fingering him, this time with three thick fingers and Takemichi squirms in frustration, “Enough, Mikey please, its enough. I want to feel it, I want it to hurt so good.”

Mikey hums in acknowledgement but doesn’t stop what he’s doing, “You’ve never taken my knot, even when I was dropped, even when I forced you, I never knotted.” Takemichi’s lips part in a gasp, “I wanna make sure you’re ready, I refuse to hold myself back right now,” He slams a fourth finger in and Takemichi screams because—fuck—its a lot. He feels like he’s being split in two, stretched beyond his limits.

“Come on baby, you said you wanted to feel it,” Mikey teases, the fucking sadist, licking the pained tears that are leaking out from underneath Takemichi’s closed eyelids.

“You, are—the, worst!” Takemichi groans out as Mikey begins to grind all four fingers into him, periodically spreading them apart at random intervals, truly forcing Takemichi to ‘feel it.’ Takemichi is going to die or maybe cum—maybe cum then die, he really can’t tell at this point all his nerves are firing into his brain like fireworks.

This goes on for an immeasurable amount of time for Takemichi—maybe hours, maybe minutes he has no way to tell. When Mikey finally pulls his fingers free of the hot clench of the omega’s insides, Takemichi feels like he may combust at any moment.

Mikey leans over him, encouraging the omega to wrap his arms around his neck as the alpha presses Takemichi’s knees up to his chest. The alpha drops sweet little kisses all over his face, ending with deep, tongue curling ones right to Takemichi’s open mouth. He pulls back to meet the omega’s gold rimmed eyes, “Are you ready, Takemitchy?”

The omega shudders, drunkly slurring,  “I feel like I should apologize in advance, there’s no way I’m going to last very long after all that.”

Mikey just grins a shark-toothed smile at him in response, lines up, and slams his hips forward.

Takemichi is aware that he’s making a lot of shameful noise, aware like someone who knows they’re dreaming but can’t do a fucking thing about it. Mikey is sucking on one of the scent glands on his neck and the feeling of it, combined with the scalding press of his cock driving his insides apart, is making a mess of him. He’s pretty sure he’s begging Mikey to bite him, his scent gland is so swollen and sore from the alpha’s rough treatment that Takemichi knows he can only get relief from the penetration of alpha fangs.

And not just any alpha, this alpha. This one beautiful, awful, wonderful, terrifyingly terrible alpha of a man that Takemichi’s body chose to change its entire molecular structure for so they could be impeccably suited for each other—the perfect pair—a matching set.

Mikey growls so very close to his face, the sound so primal that it has Takemichi’s eyes snapping open on instinct from their half-lidded, ecstasy clouded state. He blinks back tears to make eye contact with Mikey, and the alpha grins ferally from his position braced over the smaller male, “Stay with me, baby,” He snarls, hips slamming into the omega and turning everything below Takemichi’s navel into pleasurable goo, “I wanna look into your eyes when you take it.”

Takemichi whines, because shit he feels the knot, bumping against him with every aggressive thrust of his alpha’s hips. Mikey straightens, satisfied now that the omega’s eyes are open and are trained on his alpha. Mikey hikes his hips up higher, hooking one elbow under the omega’s knee to spread him wide before he uses his free hand to press Takemichi’s other knee to his chest and then he fucking grinds his knot right up against Takemichi’s hole.

The omega’s eyes roll up into his head and the alpha snaps his teeth at him, Damnit omega, I told you to keep your fuckin’ eyes open.”

Takemichi’s eyes burst open against his will, and he catches Mikey’s triumphant smirk as he pushes his knot through the remaining resistance of Takemichi’s entrance. The omega screams, tears pouring as he writhes against the floor, orgasm rushing through him as he’s forced apart at his core and then held there by an immovable force. Mikey doesn’t stop there, once he’s fully seated and his knot is fully expanded he ruts his knot up against the inside of his omega’s abused walls and the poor little thing cums again in hot spurts against his own stomach, sobbing the entire time from overstimulation.

As the last of his second orgasm begins to dial down and he’s reduced to painful, little over-stimulated noises, his alpha finally bends forward, kissing gently at the swollen scent gland at his omega’s neck as he grinds and thrusts into tight heat until the overwhelming bliss of completion finally sweeps him up, up, and up—the alpha’s last coherent thought is to bite down on the flesh beneath his teeth.

Mikey floats for what feels like a lifetime, only coming back to himself enough to disengage his teeth from mutilated flesh. He mindlessly laps up blood, his lizard brain beyond satisfied before he freezes, he doesn’t feel the bond, didn’t feel it snap into place and the flesh under his tongue feels wrong.

He pulls back and stares in disbelief at the hand covering his omega’s neck, the hand he had bitten into instead of the scent gland he had been aiming for. He takes a moment to admire how his teeth perfectly criss-cross over the indents the omega had made himself on his own hand not twenty minutes ago.

He pulls back even more to meet the smirking visage of his would-be mate, “That’s your punishment, alpha. The worst I can think of.” Takemichi slurs, clearly fucked out of his mind but no less victorious, “That bond you want so badly, I’ll make you wait, maybe until we’re old and grey!” Takemichi grins ferociously, dragging Mikey down by his hair with his bloody hand until their lips brush with every word, every breath—the omega grinds their hips together until they’re both groaning in overstimulation from where they’re still connected, “And you’ll be so good for me, won’t you alpha?” Takemichi laughs, “Because if you aren’t, I’ll never let you have it~”
