The first month had been weird. By the second he was used to everything, it wasn't like he didn't spend most of his time in the Institute anyway. After that, it was just life. He hadn't mended his relationship with his parents, but he'd said all he had to say. The ball was on their court if they wanted to do something about it. For now, he was in the Institute, he was home, with all the people who cared about him. He was doing good.
Which was why days like this still caught him off guard.
