Summary
A low, melodic chuckle escaped into the evening.
"You really are a little charmer, Philip Hamilton. Taking after your father in every which way, I see."
Philip's cheeks heated with a light flush. "...so I've been told."
"And for good reason. From what I hear you're a very intellectually gifted young man." His flush deepened, the tips of his ears burning. Her voice dropped in both volume and register, coming out almost as a purr when she continued. "And so handsome."
Philip blinked down at his twitching, unoccupied fingers. "Um," he said eloquently, his cheeks positively on fire. He dug his teeth into the tip of his tongue and willed himself not to stutter. "Thank you, ma'am."

Jack had just opened his mouth when an indignant–and suspiciously stuffy–call from down the hallway cut him off, “I’m not!”

Bookmarker's Notes
He had already turned halfway around, a warning on his tongue to please let Alex pick the goddamn movie for a change, but he swallowed the words back down and just watched.
Jack ruffled a hand through his brother's sweaty hair, eyes soft, and said, "We'll even watch your stupid hobbit movies, champ."

“A Miracle,” the top headline of the New York Evening Post proclaimed in large, bold font. Below the glowing prose sending boundless thanks to the French army surgeons and merciful God for having preserved America’s most treasured ornament, Eliza Hamilton noted another headline in smaller text: “Vice President Burr Flees Southward Ahead of Possible Indictment.”
__
Alexander Hamilton barely survives the duel with Vice President Aaron Burr. History will never be the same. -
