    In a moment of sheer panic, not wanting to get drowned out by the excitement of the firework show, Atsumu blurts out the only thing that has been on his mind since the moment he first realized he had feelings for Sakusa.

    “I like ya, Omi.”

    He stumbles over the words, so quiet it’s almost inaudible, while the entirety of his being, the entirety of his soul, wants to scream it above the tremulous beating of his heart, above the noise of the crowd, above the bursts of fireworks.

    Sakusa turns to him with a smile as more fireworks paint the sky with colors, and for Atsumu, time stands still.

    Alternatively:

    Atsumu fell in love. Sakusa didn't.
