Summary
Kara has always had an eclectic taste in music. Not that Lena really minds; if anything she gets more than her share of amusement from the sudden swings in mood and tempo and genre. But the songs Kara sings along to are the ones Lena pays the most attention to, and, well, her mind can't help making connections, finding pattern in information even if there's no intention there. So whenever Kara is cooking or cleaning or in the shower and singing while she does, Lena can't help herself, and over the course of a few weeks she starts to connect dots.
Or: Lena pays attention to the songs that Kara sings and thinks that Kara is trying to hint at something. Maybe it's Disney magic that guides her thoughts.

Summary
When Kara tells her about her second life as Supergirl Lena doesn't take it well. She kicks Kara out, and keeps pushing her away every time she reaches out until she stops. It takes weeks but it happens, and Lena feels a tired relief when another week goes by without a word from Kara.
Until Supergirl disappears.
Lena gets an answer unceremoniously, by way of the Martian landing on her balcony where Supergirl usually does. He doesn't bother with knocking and phases through the glass. Lena glares at him when he's fully in the room.
"Ms. Luthor, you're in danger," he says instead of a greeting.
"So a day ending in 'y'?"
"This threat is one you should take seriously."
Lena frowns at the Matrian. She prefers not to use his name, even in her head, to keep things simpler for herself. "Why? What is it?"
"Supergirl. The Superman in her universe died the day of the red sun, and Lex started a campaign of terror against the aliens of her Earth. And she killed him for it."
Or: A Kara from a different universe is pulled into Lena's, and she has to navigate the dynamics of a hero who had killed her brother and hates the name Luthor.
Second chapter added.

Summary
But more interesting to Lena are the unexpected clusters of sightings. There's a cluster by a Big Belly Burger location near L-Corp. That could answer the question of if Kryptonians need to eat, and Lena knows just how big the portions can be at the burger joint. But there are a couple of other clusters, around Noonan's, around a bar that doesn't seem to have a name, and clusters that seem to form a line leading to the second largest cluster on the map.
The cluster around Kara Danvers's apartment building.
The cluster that Lena stares at until it's all she can see. The cluster that hints at something Lena had long tried to ignore.
That Supergirl is hiding in the human world somewhere, and that Lena knows her human identity.
And Lena tries to suppress the pain and anger churning in her stomach.
Or: Lena's scientific mind leads her to discovering Kara's secret, and a couple of hard conversations ensue.

Summary
"It's my fault for letting Winn design it. Of course he was probably perving out about the skirt. I mean, you should have seen his first design."
"What was his first design?"
"Imagine me in a blue halter top and red boyshorts," Kara says with an ironic laugh.
Lena chokes.
Or: CatCo wants to run a piece on Supergirl's looks, Kara laments about it to Lena, and some things come to light.

Summary
"Well if you ever want to dance again, you know where to find me," Lena says before she can really think about it. She knows she should be more careful with her words, that she's dangerously close to flirting with Supergirl, but she can't help the atmosphere or the look that the superhero is giving her.
"I'll have to take you up on that some time," Supergirl says, and Lena licks her lips in response.
--------------------
"I think Supergirl was flirting with me," she says as an answer.
Kara chokes on the food in her mouth and spends a few seconds coughing and flailing. When she recovers she gives Lena a strange look. "What- what makes you say that?"
"We danced," Lena says. "We even- well, I don't know if she was serious, but I said we could dance again if she wanted, and she didn't say no."
"It- it was a gala, right? There's dancing at those things, isn't there?" Kara asks, voice higher than normal.
"Of course," Lena answers, "but you didn't hear her. I'm not saying she was coming on to me, but," she shrugs, "it just sounded flirtatious."
Or: Lena runs into Supergirl at a gala, they talk and dance, and after a conversation with Kara Danvers, they meet again.
