    Daniel merely rolls his eyes at the bait, fixes the strap of his satchel over his shoulder. “Yeah. How’d you guess?”

    The boy doesn’t respond. He only acknowledges Daniel with a brief glance. “Enjoy yourself. Don’t miss me too much.”

    Professor Molloy resides in the gloomy, fire-and-brimstone walls of St. Thomas University over the Winter break — circa the year 2000. Christmas plans: survive his second divorce, deal with his feelings for a random, online stranger and handle the tension with his obnoxious, European TA, who he’s now stuck with for the next few weeks.
