Erik is looming over him, a black hole of nothingness obscuring most of the sky, and can't he tell? Can't he tell that he is terrifying - a splintering lie of a person, a flat, unending pit in the fabric of reality, no more his Erik than a crude sketch, a second-hand description, a golem from the stories of Erik's childhood that he'd whispered to Charles at night sometimes, little pieces of his history shaped into gifts.
or: Charles experiences Shaw's death, a narrowly-averted war, and the disorienting powers of the helmet in rapid succession, and then gets shot. He deserves a little panic attack, as a treat.

disasterdrow, TaraxiniumAfter four years of space travel, Grace and Rocky are finally approaching Erid. Grace has been working hard to learn Eridian, but two days out, disaster strikes - his keyboard is broken and Rocky is hurt.
Luckily, Grace can speak some very basic Eridian with his single set of vocal cords. Unfortunately, he sounds like a newly hatched baby Eridian when he does.
