Janis must have been a bit wide-eyed because then Regina was smiling more. “Don’t look so concerned, these meds are like a truth serum for me. And it makes me weirdly nice to everyone.” Regina’s hands smoothed down the lapel of her blazer before pulling back.
“Regina George being nice. The world must be ending.”

Something rushed through her, Regina’s eyes suddenly feeling too heavy on Janis.
“Oh,” Janis managed to breathe out. “Yeah, you too.” She wasn’t sure if she truly believed it. There were just… a lot of mixed feelings when it came to Regina George.
Regina shrugged, her smile turning a little more sad. “It’s okay, you don’t need to pretend,” she said, more perceptive than Janis gave her credit for. “I get it.”

“Buy me dinner first,” Van replied, leaning forward on her arms as she met Taissa with what she hoped was a flirty smile, letting the new surge of confidence wash over her. Meanwhile, her heart was running circles in her chest.
