Malfoy actually looks kind of sweet when he’s laying in bed, all defenseless and silent. Maybe Ron can see why Hermione had taken a shine to him. He wasn’t so bad with his mouth shut.
A strange sensation goes over Ron and he realizes that he’s feeling sorry for him.
Malfoy is more than unmoored by Hermione’s absence. He’s falling apart, regressing into some sort of manchild to the point that Ron is actually feeling a bit, well…paternal toward him.
Is this how Lucius feels?
OR
Becoming quasi-parents to Malfoy is really putting a cramp in Ron and Pansy’s attempts at actual baby-making.

8th year. Draco is pining after Hermione Granger and Theo is fed up with it. He suggests Polyjuice Potion to scratch the itch and get her out of Draco's system. Unfortunately Draco manages to stumble upon the real Hermione, instead of a polyjuiced Theo. No wonder she isn't happy about any of this.
