Summary
“Look, I’m sorry, okay?” says Diaz, “I didn’t know this was your territory or I would have gone with Station 6, obviously. It’s not like I didn’t ask around when we moved here, no one told me, okay?”
“What?” Buck manages, his own permanent low grade anger dissipating for a moment in favor of confusion.
“You really should make this more official,” says Diaz, a little superciliously, “I followed procedure.”
“What are you talking about?” Buck asks, bewildered, and then, of course, the alarm goes off.

Summary
"Excuse me."
Buck doesn't realize he's the one being addressed until the speaker tugs at his t-shirt. He turns and blinks, taking in the lone child in front of him. It's a boy, maybe five, six years old with a bright green, dinosaur-themed t-shirt, a mess of golden curls on his head, and forearm crutches on each arm.
"'Scuse me," he repeats, lips pursed like he's weighing Buck up and finding him, so far, wanting. "Are you a firefighter?"
or:
Nine months into his probationary period, Evan Buckley meets a boy on a pier and survives a tsunami (just barely in that order).

Summary
Has Eddie ever thought about this?
The question first hit him as he drove to clear his head, somewhere between his apartment and the freeway, and it hasn’t let up since. It’s needling at him like an itch he can’t reach, impossible to ignore, impossible to forget.
Has Eddie ever looked at another man and wondered? Has he ever felt that slow, curious burn that’s crawling its way up Buck’s throat right now? Has he ever, holy fuck… has he ever looked at Buck and wondered?
He needs to know.
No.
He needs to show him.
Or; What if after Tommy kisses Buck, his only thought is I want to do this with Eddie.
