Summary
Her turn, then. She swaps back to her camera and stretches her arms above her head. She doesn't give it much thought as she takes a picture first of herself, then of her ceiling, and replies to Rumi's text with both. It's not until a loud THUD! comes through from Rumi's end of the line that she wonders if Rumi maybe hadn't actually been expecting anything in return.
"Woah." She sits up, frowning down at the phone in her hands. "You okay?"
"Yeah!" Rumi sounds both a bit shaky and suspiciously far away. "Yep. Yeah. I'm good."
(Living six thousand miles apart can make it hard to get someone's attention, but Zoey's always been good at problem-solving.)

Summary
She does her very best to not noticeably glance toward the older girl. The indigos and reds blossoming along Mira’s cheekbone and under her eye had not been there a few hours ago.
But then, neither had the nebulous marks on Zoey’s own fist.
A teacher enters unhurriedly shortly after. Zoey can feel her whole posture relax at the familiar sight of Bobby (Mr. Kye). His attention flickers briefly towards Mira, who gives a casual two-fingered salute in greeting without looking up from the device, and then his eyes land on Zoey.
He stops short. Nearly trips over himself, actually. “Goodness me, Zoey, what on earth are you doing here?”
“Um,” Zoey starts.
Mira pipes up, her voice that familiar dichotomy of husky and honey-sweet all at once. “She decked someone in the face.”
“Oh,” Bobby says, his voice slightly breathless and baffled, almost amused. “Did you really?”
