Thank you Rebecca Yarros for creating this wonderful world for us to play in.
Written prior to release of Onyx Storm, this picks up the Fourth Wing story where Iron Flame ends. Assumes familiarity with earlier books and contains little review of earlier action. 100% consistent with history/timelines/geography/characters/tone established in earlier books. Covers the six months immediately following the Battle of Basgiath. Xaden’s problem is addressed (somewhat), his mother becomes a central figure in the plot, Violet’s second signet emerges and various questions about her parents’ true allegiance, her physical issues, her connection to Xaden are resolved. New venin defenses are introduced, dragons take a more central role in the plot, and tensions within Navarre and the Empyrion are explained. Far fewer battles or fights than first two books, no explicit sex, lots of romance, mental rather than combat challenges. The plot is the thing.
Does not address: Changes in Andarna, feather tails, offensive weapons.
