Summary
A party in the Hob is not one that people in the Seam want to miss. They’re a guaranteed night of fun, even in the midst of the poorest District in all of Panem. It usually involves lively music from the Covey, plenty of drinks to pass around, lots of dancing, and card games. Specifically, poker games, set up on a rickety circular table surrounded by spectators and booze.
As a son of a Booker Boy, that’s where Wyatt’s father assigned him for the night. Truth be told, Wyatt hated doing the poker nights at the Hob, but admittedly, it was the best way to scrape up some cash so that he wouldn’t go hungry that week. He was supposed to watch the game carefully, to look for signs of hidden cards or if someone in the crowd of spectators were signaling one of the players. He’s supposed to be doing that. He should be doing that right now. But truth be told, Wyatt was doing a terrible job at his unofficial role.
Because his eyes are busy, fixed on the dance floor, trying to drink in every bit of Haymitch that he can.
