Summary
"Fine. But if you screw me over, I'll kill you. Understand?"
Lee Know nodded, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Likewise."
***
The world ended a lot quicker than Jisung would've expected.
After a mutated virus escaped from laboratory containment in Seattle, it ran rampant throughout the city, turning its victims into bloody monsters that sought to infect every last human being alive. Han Jisung, a study abroad student in the Pacific Northwest, was saved him from infection by a last minute camping trip with his roommates. After being separated from his best friend, Hwang Hyunjin, Jisung is forced to undertake an arduous journey down the West Coast to find him, all while meeting a few interesting characters along the way.

Summary
“Oh shit—quick! Make a wish!” Jisung grabs Minho’s shoulder and jumps in place. He squeezes his eyes shut, nose wrinkled in concentration, previous conversation forgotten.
“What’d you wish for?” Minho asks, voice too soft, too reverent. Shit, he really can’t help himself.
Jisung peeks one eye open. “Aish, for you to stop looking at me like that,” he whines.
“Like what?”
Jisung circles his wrist and swings their arms lazily. The pressure of his touch sends shocks up and down Minho’s forearm.
“Like that.”
“With my eyes?”
“Seriously, hyung. Stop perceiving me.”

Summary
"I used to be an idol." And at Jisung’s silent surprise, he went on. "Not from your generation. I debuted at seventeen, you might not even have been born yet." And if that wasn’t the perfect reminder for Jisung to not forget that Minho was, in fact, much older than him. Eighteen years.
"You said used to—what happened?" Jisung asked, because even though he knew an idol’s career had a limited lifespan—and that most careers peaked and declined after military service—Minho was still handsome enough to have successfully redirected his career if age had really been the problem. Minho could have easily become an actor, or at least a model.
"Ah, I got injured." Minho replied with a faint smile, and under the table, Jisung could tell he was gently tapping his left knee. "A fractured kneecap.”Jisung pressed his lips together, hoping Minho couldn’t read pity in his eyes. Because that wasn’t what he wanted to give him. Compassion, yes—but not pity.
Or: Through a series of events, Jisung finds refuge for a weekend in Minho's house, a former idol who revels in mountains' solitude. Together, they learn to not be alone anymore.

Summary
Jisung turns his head to give Minho an angry squint. “I feel like you’re trying to trick me. I don’t know how, or for what reason, but you are.”
Minho isn’t looking at him anymore, scrolling on his phone, gracing Jisung with his ridiculous side profile. “I would never trick you,” he says, voice as flat as the plains of Colorado.
“That sounds like something someone who’s trying to trick me would say.”
“Jisung.”
“What.”
“Come here.” He clicks his phone off and sets it on the nightstand between their beds, then pats his thigh.
“What?” Jisung short circuits for a moment. Minho wants him to… what? Sit on his thigh? Isn’t that a little forward? That has to be skipping at least ten steps. They’ve only known each other for, like, less than 72 hours. And a majority of that was spent antagonizing one another.
“I said come here.” And he pats his thigh again as if that’s a completely normal thing to do.
