"So, why are we being so secretive about this?" Will says instead.
"Why not?" Shrugged Mike.
He leans against the wall, distancing himself from the waste and other things he'd rather not identify in this dark. "Like, isn't it fun to have something only we know?" Mike says, a bit quieter now.
Will signs up for a summer job, hoping to just confess and have a nice, fun vacation this year. But life, as always, has different plans in store for him. Love triangles, misunderstandings, fallouts, you name it.

Will shook his head, still avoiding finding Mike's eyes. "It just feels like there are so many things I want to — need to — say, but I can't."
The Byers come home from a vacation following the events of what had happened with Vecna and the Upside Down, and Mike would finally be able to see Will again. But not without realizing what those strange feelings he's had all along were.

Summary

Summary
Will’s admired theater since he was young—what’s not to like about it? Drama, excitement, romance, really anything you could ask for. To his surprise, Jonathan works as a member of the tech crew for Hawkins High’s Theater Club, and when one of their staff members calls in sick, Will’s in charge of filling in for them. It would be the perfect paradise for Will—all for the exception of a particularly arrogant lead, Mike Wheeler.

“Till, you’re alive?”
It worked. Did his plan work?
He wasn’t dead?
Was he dreaming then?
Had he gone mad?
“Yeah,” Till drew a smiley face onto his arm with X’s for eyes.
“I’m alive?” He felt around his face. Was he truly alive?
Till paused his doodling to shoot the most bewildered look at Ivan, “No, you’re dead.”
“Wait really?” His heart plummeted. Then how was this all possible?
“Oh my god,” he face-palmed, “I was joking. You’re clearly alive, idiot.”
“I am?” He let out a relieved sigh. But then where was the alien stage?
“Did you perchance leave your one functioning braincell in the cafeteria?” Till scowled at him.
One moment he was facing off Till. He was dying. But the next he wakes up in some high school where nothing makes sense anymore. He’s alive, so is Till. But how are they both alive? And what the hell is Sua doing here? Ivan has to adapt to his new life while trying to understand, well, everything.

She caught a glimpse of his face crumpling into a sob before he turned and slammed the door behind him. Nancy swore she felt the walls shake.

Summary
It’s not like they’re getting the bad end of the deal, Ivan argues. It’s really the opposite. All these people he matched together had never been so sickeningly happy, and they all had Ivan controlling the strings behind the scenes to thank for it. In fact, they should probably invite Ivan to their weddings as a form of gratitude or something (not that Ivan would like to go, but it’s still a nice gesture).
…Or Ivan plays cupid in the coffee shop he’s part-timing at because why not but Till (the cute and difficult regular) is very much ruining his perfect streak.
