Summary
Ed wets his lips, watches Izzy track the motion. The want in his expression is less buried than usual, as though there were only ever two things inside Izzy, violence and lust, and now that the violence has burned off—it’s like placing his hand on the ship’s wheel, Ed thinks, and feeling the tension between rudder and sail. All he has to do is hold.

Summary
Edward catches the shift in mood. "You can have his mouth if you want, Stede."
"I would have thought he'd bite," Stede says. It's not a no.
"Not on land," Edward says, and there's open affection in his voice. It's fucking embarrassing. More embarrassing, somehow, than being fucked on the floor of a tavern in Nassau.
In which Izzy goes looking for a fight to blow off steam and finds more than he bargained for.

Summary
"I don't know that I'm the tattoo type," Stede admits. It isn't a no.
Ed scoffs. "No such thing as a type, mate. Do you want it or not? That's all that matters."
Has anything ever been so simple?
Ed's time is worth two-hundred seventy five dollars an hour, according to the shop's website. Stede may have spent some time browsing last night. There wasn't anything else to do, really, while waiting for Alma to finish her soak, and every time Stede looked directly at Alma's new piercing he saw Israel's hand cupping her chin and imagined the roses on his arm. He wants. For the first time in a long time, Stede wants. He wants to be marked like Izzy. He wants Ed to look at him how Ed looks at Izzy. This whole affair is selfish and indulgent, ill-considered and rash.
Stede is none of these things, but Ed looks at him like he could be.
