    “Kid, I’mma need you to step away from the edge.”

    Peter whips around.

    Bam.

    There he is. Mr Stark.

    “I-I wasn’t trying to—” he stammers, getting down instantly. “It’s not like that, I swear!”

    Peter looks at the man’s exposed face, with the Iron Man helmet retraced. He traces every detail with his eye, forcefully ingraining them into his memory. After countless nights of staring at the local mural of him, Peter only just realised how little resemblance it captured. It takes every iota of control in him to not rush forward and never let go.

    “Good. ‘Cause I don’t do rooftop therapy. I’m not licensed.” He steps out of the suit and walks next to him. “Actually, I’ve been told I have the opposite effect. I’d probably make you wanna jump even more. Well, I’d catch you of course.”

    Peter time-travels to see Mr Stark and they (un)conveniently meet on a rooftop.

    Tony stared in complete shock at the man sitting on the floor just a few feet away. His hair was the same color as Tony's, as were his eyes. They had the same jaw, nose, and mouth. The only differences between them apart from style were that this man was older and had a large scar encompassing part of the right side of his face. It was uncanny.

    “Who are you?” Howard demanded, taking a step toward the mysterious trio.

    “You aren’t going to like the answer.” The man who looked entirely too much like him stated.

    “Answer the question.”

    “Tony Stark.”

    Or: Tony, Peter, and Morgan are transported into the past. Howard, Maria, and Tony go on the wild ride that is slowly gathering more and more baffling pieces of the future of the Stark family.

    There were many theories about his identity (some more ridiculous than others) but the fact was, none of the SI workers actually knew which one was true. And that’s why they all settled on calling him The Kid.

    It’s not like he was really secretive or didn’t talk to anybody. It was quite the opposite actually. He was very talkative and his mouth seemed to never shut up. But he just rarely was in one place long enough to have a longer, meaningful conversation about his identity with anybody. Or he talked so much that nobody had an occasion to ask him any questions.

    So he stayed a secret to everyone working in the tower. Until, one day, to everyone’s surprise, he came to SI with a field trip from Midtown High.

    Or, Peter goes on a field trip to SI and the interns gossip
