He freezes. Obviously upset. How could he not be? I remove myself from his hold, fighting any tears trying to make their way down. "You don't have to be involved of you don't want to. I understand timing isn't the best right now with the season starting, and I'm about to open the shop." I pace across, trying to keep my breathing steady.
"Pregnant?" He asked, causing me to turn to him.

“How can I help you today, Adrian?”
He wasn’t here to solely chide me with his horrible sarcasm, it was because he wanted something from me. Our relationship had been functionally transactional since first year, and it worked out great for the both of us. Wonderful even.
“Little kelpie told me you got a note in Potions. I’m inclined to know what the nature of such frivolity has in store for you.”
I rubbed my crown, trying to ease the sting of the stray book away.
“Ask me again, normally.”
His Victorian-era linguistics grew tiring any time after eight at night.
“Your Potions partner, the Goldy boy, let it loose that you got a love letter, apparently. Lemme read it.”
I handed it to Adrian, “I’ve no idea who wrote it.”
Upon getting the letter, his shoulders stiffened.
“Must be a Slytherin, look at this handwriting. Ancient,” Adrian chuckled, “You’ve caught the attention of someone who loves theatrics apparently.”

The plan was to follow. Not to bump directly into his calf.
I squeaked. The sound came out abruptly and with an air of meager hurt.
Adrian didn’t make a sound, he turned around, and saw a bunny on its back thumping its feet. He crouched down, setting his notes on the grass as he helped the bunny, me, back upright.
“Hi,” he started, he shook his head, “Salazar, I’m talking to a rabbit. This is absurd.”
I was stuck in the spot, ears still floppy, tail still fuzzy.
