Summary
There's no doubt that everyone in the league loves Macklin Celebrini. He steals the show with his charm and ability to score.
Will? He's the shadow. The mastermind of a pretty face. The shadow writer to the rising music star. God, it gets difficult to be the shadow.
But he can't make himself get mad at Macklin; he's done no wrong to him, quite the opposite, really. He's been so kind since they first met, quickly leaving behind their BU/BC "rivalry".
Then the schedule changed. Michael Misa is the youngest addition to the Sharks. Will would never have been bothered with a new guy. He was a new guy once. But he was bothered, bothered by the fact that his time with Mack had lessened as he took the rookie under his wing.
Pre-game December 13, 2025.
Taking a look at Mack's face, staring right at Misa. Will stood up to take a look at himself in the restroom mirror. He looked tired, his eye bags were deeper than normal, and with a sigh, he rinsed his face with cold water. Macklin was laughing. something Misa said. That feeling came back, and this time he couldn't swallow.

The inspiration was from S4 of Homeland. Someone switched Carrie Mathison’s bipolar meds into hallucinogens, and she took these pills without knowing and was stuck in hallucinations: she treated someone else as Nicholas Brody, a man that she used to love, and she spent the entire night apologizing and confessing her late love to him.
But in this story, there is no someone else but George Russell and Max Verstappen. George Russell confessed how useless he is right now to a younger himself, and admitted his envy, his hate, his despise, and his unaware love to Max Verstappen.Bookmarked by SatanSizz

Summary
If the GPDA notes were to be believed, only champions had ever received wings after the final race of the season, exclusively in the manageable size described in Seb's notes, like Lando's, in FIA-sanctioned colours. There was no recorded incident of any kind of deviation, but then. Things were not always recorded for a reason, and George had gradually learned that the absence of a thing in the official record keeping held a very different kind of weight.
Still, moments trickled back to George from the second half of the season. Horner's sacking, Red Bull's almost miraculous comeback, Max hunting other cars down for pole positions and podiums. Red Bull gives you wings. The team had, in horrible irony, seemed to have somehow manifested their tagline. Max had embodied that team in a way that had been awesome and terrible to see.
