Noise Compliants is the Prequel to Complex Relations. There will hopefully be a third Epilogue part as well.

  2. Summary

These will have three unrelated stories, which do not need to be read to understand the others nor do they need to be read in any particular order, with very similar starting premises. I had one idea, and then spun it in two additional directions that became their own stories as well.

    Summary

He should just forget about Rozanov. Forget about Rozanov coming all over his own stomach as Shane watched, transfixed; forget about Rozanov’s hand curving possessively around Shane’s jaw to pull him in for a kiss. Forget about the dizzying, red-hot bolt of shame and anticipation and fear and arousal that had shot through him when Rozanov stroked two fingers down between his ass cheeks and pressed there—a question, an offer. A promise.

(In which Shane responds to Ilya’s texts between 2011 and 2013.)

“Stop saying dick pic,” Shane hissed. “This is harassment.” He glared at the bulge in his pants. “You are harassing me.”

“I do not know what this word means.”

    “How fucking convenient for you.”

“Aw, Hollander,” Rozanov said, but he sounded a little contrite. After a beat, he asked, “Do you want me to stop?”

“Don’t you dare stop,” Shane said through clenched teeth, surreptitiously palming himself to take the edge off. It didn’t help.

“So do you want my dick or not?” Rozanov asked after another beat.

    Summary

“Well, Rozanov can’t afford the rehab he needs to get back to the league,” Shane said. “So I’ll pay for it.”
    “And—” Ilya began.
“And whatever else he needs to get by until he gets himself another contract,” Shane said. As Shane spoke, Ilya largely kept his eyes on the money manager. He’d never gotten to watch someone realize Shane was insane before.

The reigning NHL MVP can't cover the costs of his recovery after getting in an off-season car wreck. Shane adds Ilya Rozanov to his investment portfolio.

    Summary

“Hello Shane. This is Ilya again, calling about your solar panel quote. Call me back when you are able, the number is—”

Shane pokes the delete button so hard he worries about his phone screen. Every day, this fucking company calls him. Sometimes it’s Elaine or Cyrus, but Shane finds it the most irritating when it’s Ilya. Something about his attitude in his definitely-not-attractive-and-distracting Russian accent makes him sound smug, like he knows he’ll get the sale.

He will never get the sale.

Shane Hollander is never getting solar panels installed. Someone should probably tell Ilya, the solar panel salesman.

    Summary

“I’ve…seen you around campus and it’s good to finally meet you. Like, properly.” He fumbled over the words, his tongue feeling thick and heavy and entirely too big for his mouth. Whether it was from the weed or the nerves from Ilya's presence, Shane couldn't tell.

“I’ve seen you, too.” Ilya grabbed the cigarette from behind his ear, bringing it to his mouth before lighting it.

“Really?” He watched as Ilya took a long inhale from the cigarette. Shane wanted to say something in that moment, something about how mixing alcohol, weed, and nicotine was probably a bad idea, but the words died in his throat as Ilya blew out smoke from the corner of his mouth and grinned at him. He looked so fucking good.

Da, Shane Hollander.” Shane fought back a shiver as his name fell from Ilya’s lips. He loved how Ilya’s voice had wrapped around the vowels, long drawn out and quiet. He wanted to hear it again and again.

or, Shane Hollander has had a crush on Ilya Rozanov from afar for the past three years. They finally meet at a party.

    Summary

Wyatt was not, like, nosy. For sure, he was interested. He was curious. He engaged with people, obviously, because most people were interesting and engaging and had cool thoughts and said neat stuff if you asked.

So, no. Wyatt wasn’t nosy, but he wasn’t stupid, either.
