“I don't know,” Kaeya offers jovially. “Maybe Venti's a vampire.”
That draws a pair of groans from both Jean and Diluc, Jean leaning forward to throw a potato chip at him from the half-empty bowl on the dining table.
“Can you please be serious?” she scolds.
Kaeya shrugs as he picks the potato chip off his lap and eats it.
“But I am being serious,” he says, and when Jean opens her mouth to protest, he moves the fork to point at her. “No, no, hear me out."
If Jean and Diluc had been told that they'd be spending the summer unravelling a secret deep within their small university town, they would have shaken their heads crisply and said no, thank you. Unfortunately, a chance encounter at the pub soon leads them on a wild adventure— a countdown to uncover the secrets behind the strange boy living in the abandoned castle on the lake, and the fate weaving them together in shared destiny.

Her child- no. This puppet— the first successful puppet, had shown emotions. This puppet was only a prototype, yet it is still not allowed to show emotions. Completed or not. Puppets are a failure once they malfunction.Yet.. she had somehow gotten attached to it.
But, God’s do not show emotions.
“Do not call me mother.” Her monotone voice was intimidating. Her blade was near the face of the puppet, yet not touching the delicate skin.
The moment the puppet felt emotions, she had chosen to discard it.
