Summary
The dreams had always been with him.
Since he was a child, Thomas would wake at night, images from a time long past dancing in front of his vision. Some were beautiful, peaceful even. His favorites were the ones with another younger boy; they played in a garden, or climbed trees together. There is a woman too, sometimes; darning socks by candlelight, or singing softly under her breath as she tended to supper. She would take Tom to what looked like a farmers market, basket swinging on her arm. Those dreams left him feeling warm and content upon waking.
Then, there were the other dreams.

Summary
Francis Crozier is the newly made co-head of a recently academised school deemed to ‘need improvement’. To survive his first year there he’s going to have to work alongside his well-dressed and insufferable co-head, James Fitzjames, as they battle corporate red tape, stressed teachers, a dilapidated school building, and an absent Executive Head.
Oh, and then there’s the school’s latest student - a girl toeing the line of permanent exclusion, determined to get there. Not to mention her father, who may yet bring a whole new world of troubles to Erebus Academy…

Summary
The red-crowned rattle-crane, aptly named, has a splash of crimson across the top of its head, still wet from where Azula’s brush had been a moment before. Its eyes are coffee-brown and shining. The sharp spear of its beak is enticing.
The viper peers through slitted eyes, effortlessly giving the impression of both danger and inherent laziness. Power without effort. Beauty without purpose.
Azula wants to tear it to pieces, but that’s how she feels about everything she makes.

“Of course he is, he’s going to be the Fire Lord, he’s been engaged since he was twelve,” Azula says. A useless Fire Lord who she’s going to have to prop up, if not outright usurp, but Fire Lord all the same.
