Summary
Pierce holds one claw behind his earlobe and, after taking a moment to line the tool up correctly, gently pokes him. It takes the tool away to examine, then pokes him again, harder this time. Grace winces the slightest bit. It doesn’t hurt, but his ears are sensitive. Pierce steps back. “Look in reverse,” it says.
Grace looks around for his little mirror and grabs it, bringing it close to his face and tilting his head to get a good look. “Um… Oh.” His glasses are placed on his face before he can even ask for them. “Thank you, Rocky,” he mumbles, now paying attention to where he can finally see the little mark. It’s in the dead centre of his lobe. Once he gives his approval to Pierce, it repeats the process on the other ear, matching the marks up perfectly.
And now comes the scary part.
The clamps.
The needles.
Eridians document the first ever human body modification performed on Erid.

Rocky darted out of the way. The door shut with a decisive whirr-click.
The endless glug-thud-squelch of Ryland Grace's body seemed very loud in the small room. He made a noise that sounded like, "Huh?"
"Grace and Adrian talk now," Rocky commanded. They pointed one arm at them. "Talk until both normal."
"What?" Adrian said, baffled.
Rocky clattered several claws against the ground, a discord of pique. "You are both annoying! Always polite, polite, polite. Bland. Empty."In which Adrian and Grace haven't really been getting along, and Rocky takes matters into his own claws.

Summary
Ryland had assumed that kink could never be for him. Kink was something he imagined was fundamentally incompatible with someone who really, really didn't want to be touched sexually, whether that be by a gentle hand or a leather flogger. He was learning quickly that his assumptions had been wrong.
Rocky wants to take care of Grace in as many ways as he can. Together, they're discovering whole new ways to be taken care of.
