Summary
It's a tale as old as time: A princess in a tower rescued by the dark knight who slays the dragon (or, in this case, the evil emperor who is her grandfather). As the knight claims the emperor's throne, will he kill the heir to further secure his reign (come on, who are we kidding?), ship her off to a convent (Jakku, maybe?) or marry the girl (yes, please). And what obstacles will lie in their path?
This story seeks to capture the films' sense of fun and adventure.

Summary
A year ago on Christmas Eve, Kylo Ren (in truth, Ben Solo) left Rey a note in their London flat saying he had to run out for a quick work assignment but would be back. He failed to do so. After four months of waiting, Rey - who has serious abandonment issues - decides it's time to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and move on. What happens when Ben and Rey unexpectedly run into each other the following December at a New York City gala? Can what was broken be rebuilt? And what secrets will be revealed?
UPDATE DEC. 24, 2024 -- I got to thinking about this story from a year ago. In particular about the characters and where they would be today. I was inspired to write a couple of new chapters to satisfy my own curiosity. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed revisiting the tale.

Summary
Kira Palpatine is on the lam with her small brood, running away from a controlling grandfather who saw them as his property. He'd been the only family she had left after the untimely death of her husband four years prior, but now he was trying to marry her off to consolidate his power. She's running on pure instinct when she arrives in the picturesque coastal town of Ackbar, Maine, population 2,187. She has no memory of ever having lived in the town or who - and what - she really is. The friends and family she left behind do their best to keep Kira - who is really Rey Solo - safe until her husband and mate arrives. Ben Solo knows what he has to do, but will he have the strength to do it?
Meanwhile, back in Albany, Sheev Palpatine is not taking his granddaughter's departure laying down. He sets his bloodhounds to the hunt for Kira and her children and will bring her back no matter what it takes. And if he can exact revenge on the pack that thwarted his ambitions decades earlier, so be it.

“Does it have any sports in it?” Dylan asked.
“Are you kidding me?!? It’s got fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love… miracles!”
“It doesn’t sound too bad,” Dylan conceded. “I’ll try to stay awake.”
Han pulled his seat closer to Dylan’s bed and made himself comfortable. “Oh, thank you very much. Very nice. I appreciate the vote of confidence.” He snarked back and turned the page to begin.
