"I… really don't understand you, Columbina."
"You keep giving me signals every time you perform. Leaving me confused on what you want from me. Always wanting to see me after you perform, and then push me away until I'm close to understanding what you want." Sandrone uncovers Columbina's intentions bit by bit.
A hard swallow comes from her throat, "And now you're asking me not to leave?" Her voice is on edge, teetering between frustration and tolerance.

Summary
“Do you…” she found herself starting again, before hesitating, because it was of no consequence to her, and Sandrone always followed logic more than anything else. But she was so curious, her gears halting and then erratically speeding up in a pattern she didn’t recognize. She needed to ask, if only to ebb this uneasy and vulnerable feeling away. “...Do you also stay in her room like you do with mine?”
Columbina stopped eating, surprised by the question. She had no idea about the suffocating feeling in Sandrone's chest that accompanied her as she waited for her answer in a bated breath. “No,” she eventually replied. “I only stay in your room, I feel most comfortable here with you.”
Sandrone was a clockwork doll, and Columbina was a moon goddess. Both were living solitary lives before they met, both unable to experience emotions the way ordinary humans could. Yet, somehow, their paths converged and the foundations of everything Sandrone thought she knew crumbled to the ground.

Summary
“Drink more slowly,” the engineer chided her, and yet her tone remained soft. Her hand found its way back to Columbina’s thigh and she couldn’t help but stare at her in confusion, unsure why her beloved was violating every tea party etiquette she had always rigidly abided by ever since the day the goddess first barged into her room hundreds of years ago.
“...Sandrone, you seem a bit off today,” she said, her head tilting slightly, perplexed, as she scanned Sandrone’s expression closely. “Did something go wrong during maintenance?”
The engineer placed her teacup down and shook her head fondly. She chuckled at her question, and the goddess couldn’t help but wonder why she was acting this way.
It had been two months since Sandrone and Columbina officially got together. Wanting to become a better lover, Columbina decided to visit the hidden dwelling after her maintenance, making sure she was okay while doing a sweet gesture for her. However, as soon as she arrived, she could immediately tell that something was amiss.
