“cas brings dean a 4am cup of coffee while they're still researching in the bunker library; another all nighter to save the innocent. cas puts the steaming mug down in front of dean, and dean snags cas' sleeve, yanking him down and kissing him on the cheek as a thank you; just barely catching the side of cas' mouth. it isnt until dean has pulled away and taken a large sip of coffee he realizes with startling clarity that he just kissed cas for the very first time.”

Summary
Sometimes, not always, but sometimes, words aren't his friend.
Sometimes when the mental walls take too big of a hit, and his worst fears remind him, words don't stick around.
Sometimes, he can tell when words aren't his form of communication, other times, it grips his throat like a sticky shadow and blocks them. Choking. No sound but harsh attempts at words. Calling, trying, crying and reaching until sleep takes pity.Dean Winchester felt the lick of flames when he carried his brother from the crumbling foundations of his home. It took not only his Mother but his words too. He stayed silent for some time until words came back. His father, ever the man he was, never got him that help so it followed like a shadow into adult life.

Summary
