Summary
Every winter season, the Fatui throw a party.
Sandrone is not fond of this tradition. Her general distaste for her colleagues aside, these gatherings are always so tedious. Why would she choose to spend an entire evening with people who she already sees more than enough in meetings that are, at times, more exciting than these events are? The answer is that she would not.
So why, then, is she attending tonight's party?
"Oh, Sandrone! You decided to come?" Columbina's smile is bright enough to rival the ridiculous lights hanging along the ballroom walls. "That's wonderful. I was worried that you would skip it again."
Well. The reason doesn't matter. She's already here.

Sandrone scowls when Columbina turns towards her, so slowly it looks as though she's sleep walking. Maybe she is. Sandrone doesn't know, and she doesn't care. "Why are you here?"
Columbina is slow to respond, too. Irritating. "Rosalyne asked… if I wanted to join her. This is your room, Sandrone?"
"Obviously."
A tiny smile lights up Columbina's face. This isn't the first time Sandrone has been this physically close to her, but it is the first time she's seen her strange colleague smile. It's a little unnerving, not that she would ever admit it. "I like it. It feels… warm. Welcoming."
Warm. Welcoming?
