I continued staring at the floor beneath me as I kneeled before my father. I shook my head, trying to have some self preservation. I could feel his eyes boring into the back of my head, calculating, thinking. "So perhaps you wouldn't dared have speak out against the ancient laws. They are in place for a reason, and without them—" I tuned him out, long since used to his hour long lectures. "—Of course, it is such a shame that making you mortal has brainwashed you," my ears caught that sentence and my head snapped up.

Summary
Apollo remembers the time, way back then, before the war with Gaea, when a clumsy, sweet, unclaimed demigod would pray to him. Pray for his approval, hoping in vain to be his very own son. It could have been possible, after all, Frank Zhang was amazing with a bow, however it was not so. Mars was his father, and even though it irked him that the god of war had only claimed his son once he had needed his help, there is nothing he could do about it.
Or is there?

Summary
Artemis tried telling me that the fact I am scared of loosing my new-found mortality is a good sign; proof I'm not becoming another shallow god once again. Still, I can't help but worry that in due time, I will forget all about my trials, forget about my promise to the late Jason Grace.
All of this just to say, you know the drill by now. I have done something stupid, and now I regret it.

The Roman emperors and Python have been defeated, the oracles reclaimed, and Apollo restored to godhood. He's having somewhat of a hard time adjusting to being back among the gods, which is understandable after his six-month grow-a-conscience speedrun. But something else is rotten in the state of Olympus, and before it can really feel like home, it's going to require some serious renovation.

Quests always call for three. Apollo finds himself entangled in the quest to Tartarus alongside Will and Nico. With a force of evil seemingly vying for him at the bottom, Apollo has no choice but to push forward and not regret his selflessness.
On the bright side, he's definitely getting quality bonding time with his son and his son's boyfriend!
