This story takes place in the early episodes of Haikyuu To the Top after Karasuno's victory over Shiratorizawa.

She liked when he avoided her eyes, he’d always been good at picking up what things overstimulated her, and very rarely added to the list of things that contributed. She liked looking at him, when he wasn’t looking at her. The way his blue eyes reflected the street lights, as they swept across the sky. She wasn’t sure what he was looking for, out there, she certainly didn’t see any stars. Either way, his eyes moved across the sky and his eyelashes were long and dark and he was so handsome. He looked dashing, in his suit, his hair pushed out of his face, he was beautiful, even without her glasses. He was blurred and hazy in the yellow streetlight, and he was beautiful. In an instant, his eyes found hers, and she looked away. She’d been ogling him, practically drooling. She felt her cheeks warm up, pinker than even the makeup she’d applied.

"She's not trying to fuck you," Victoria blurts out then, but the way her eyelashes flutter and her gaze flickers over Cassie's face signals the immediate regret. "I mean-" she laughs, a little awkward, "well, not that she wouldn't. You're obviously very- uhm."
Cassie tilts her head, eyebrows raised and gaze. She touches her fingers to Victoria's jaw, tilting her gaze up to meet hers, gaze searching but not unkind.
"She would be if I," Victoria begins, always eager to please, but still unsure of how to say what she wants, "if I didn't tell her that you're off limits."

・Why This AU Is Set in the United States
I chose to write Yuusaku and Ogata in a modern AU set in the United States on purpose.
By placing them outside contemporary Japan and the cultural framework I’m familiar with, I wanted to see their personalities more clearly—separated from the expectations, roles, and social constraints that would otherwise define them.A note on the series:
In Tables, I wanted Yuusaku and Ogata’s Dom/Sub tension to exist outside conventional macho masculinity. Ogata’s dominance is not the typical masculine sadist model, and the submissive sensibility in this series is not rooted in masculine pride, conquest, or surrender as defeat.
Their tension comes from control, refusal, restraint, observation, and the act of making the other person choose.

Nirei pouts at his upperclassmen, but folds his finger. All the guys that were on break started spamming the group chat like crazy. Kiryuu watched Suo’s eyes dart around like a mad beast. Sugishita had a smug look as he stalks past Kurita with a slice of strawberry shortcake.
“Uryuu says to put a finger down if your partner is older than you-“
“I admit my defeat,” Nirei surrenders as he grabs the punishment drink and downs it’s with one long gulp. “That’s all you’re getting out of me. Should I bring your check?”
Nirei goes back to serving another table of customers with a bright and open smile.
Kiryuu looks at his phone a simple text notification.
Sugi-chan: I told you so.
