He’s 5’9 now, and he’s found new motivation to live after the disappearance of his empire in the form of rebuilding it on his own.
But their status quo is suddenly shaken up when Zim receives a transmission from Irk for the first time in six years, requesting that he return to become their new Tallest. Now embarked on a journey back to Irk, they find themselves confronting new dangers, old faces, and the ever-evolving nature of their nebulous relationship.

Previously, they hadn't even been able to imagine anything of the sort. Between this "Dr. Wakeman" lady now joining the family, a secret collaborative project between the two love-stricken scientists, and trying to find out what the unusually discreet Irken Invader Zim has up his metallic sleeves, it's enough to fry Dib's brain!

Summary
Zim and Dib are in Hi-Skool now, still enemies and still fighting, when the apocalypse comes. An infestation of brainwashing alien leeches known as Lemsworth spreads throughout the town, zombifying its victims, and threatening to take over the world before Zim can. Begrudgingly, the two team up in a battle to save the Earth from its doom by pestilence. Of course, getting along is easier said than done, and Dib and Zim find themselves in the midst of an emotional reckoning among sewer-crazed hypnotics, alien death cults, and ghost moms.

Summary
The Tallest send Zim on an earth mission to obtain an item of interest. During the quest, however, Zim confronts a figure from his past who quickly overwhelms him, capturing the invader. In an attempt to find him, Dib, Zim’s secret housemate Skoodge, Gaz (she was bribed), Gir and Minimoose travel to space to search for any clues to his disappearance. The kidnapping takes a dangerously strange turn when the very origins of the Irken Empire come from hiding, revealing the secrets of how twisted the First Tallest’s vision of the planet had become, essentially sending the Irk into a state of chaos. Of coarse, the sneak attack by the resisty doesn’t help either.

After the Florpus nearly destroyed the planet and no one seemed to care, Dib wonders if exposing Zim as an alien even matters anymore. One day he walks to the next block over and meets some new neighbors. Very soon after, he finds out he's not alone in his fight.
He has some new friends.
Mr. and Mr. Tall have moved in.
(The Tallest decide ruining Zim's fake mission is an excellent revenge plan after the Florpus pain he put them through, and team up with Dib to do it. )
