When Pastor Jim orders John onto an urgent case while he's in the middle of a perceived lead on the yellow-eyed demon, he sends Dean to take care of it for him... by enrolling him and Sam at the summer camp the monster they're hunting is threatening. While Dean tries to keep Sam away from the danger, solve the case, save the kids, and kill the monster, and not get himself sent home or CPS called on his absent father, Caleb gets wind of his mentor's latest genius parenting move and dives into the church camp trenches beside his best friend. However, the case is a complicated one, and thanks once again to Johnny's A+ Parenting, Dean is even more vulnerable to the monster he's hunting than they realized.

The village was cold on this lonesome winter night, the air nipping at Dean’s heels as he strolled along the icy river bank. Dean was young, but a boy, at the age of fourteen. His younger brother, Samuel, was only ten, leaving Dean to take care of him as he was an ill child. Dean had been left to take care of the pale boy for the majority of his childhood, growing up fast was a necessity of survival. Their mother had died in a fire many years ago, their village having to flee north in order to remain intact and to avoid perishing in the ruins of what was once a loving town. They had rebuilt the village in the snowy regions of the mountains, adjusting to the temperature that they were not used to and building to adapt to said climate. It had been a few years now since the town had fully rebuilt, the townsfolk all working together just as they had before. Only this time there was more sadness in their kindness, apathy in those who didn’t wish to linger on the thoughts of those they lost.
