Summary
Lagniappe (noun, Cajun French): a little something extra, a surprise or small treat.
Clarke is an officer in the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service, assigned to run a medical station during a bad hurricane. Lexa is in the Cajun Navy, an organized network of volunteers that rescue people from flooded areas. When they meet, there's more than one kind of tension. But it's also pretty inconvenient to have a crush in the middle of a natural disaster.
