She blinked into the glow, barely able to breathe. Before her hovered a ring, elegant and simple. Blue, impossibly blue. A faint symbol etched into its surface pulsed with gentle energy.
“You have the ability to instill hope. You belong to the Blue Lantern Corps.”
She reached for the ring.

Artemis started to panic when she couldn't find Lian. Taking a deep breath, she tried to remember if she knew where her niece could be. She remembered talking to her mom last night and being reminded about her doctor’s appointment, talking to M’gann and having her gush about the date Conner had planned for the two of them, remembered putting her super excited niece to bed as she gushed about starting Kindergarten tomorrow.

Bolting for the door, Artemis started to berate herself for forgetting she had to pick up her niece. Arriving at the school, Artemis was surprised to find out that someone stayed to play with her niece. Now if only he wasn't so handsome.
Percy Jackson was an enigma. How could someone be so kind and loving, but have the scars and eyes that he has. Eyes that sometimes glowed with power, reminding her of the sea during a storm. Meeting him and his daughter was something Artemis was never going to regret however. Having someone who understood what it was like to lose someone they loved, having someone to vent to, someone who would lean their shoulder, even their couch was amazing.
This will be the first story I post on either site so criticism is welcome, encouraged even.
