Summary
Clark’s room was small.
There was a cluster of faintly glowing plastic planets and a set of false stars on the ceiling that radiated a sickly sort of green and illuminated overflowing bookshelves sprawled across the wall like an untended garden. A single red star watched them from the corner, too far away for it’s light to reflect on anything.
The places Lois and Jimmy had lain awake beside him were still warm, and he nuzzled into them in his sleep, still seeking comfort after everything he’d been through. Clark gasped and flinched further under his blankets when the door slammed open and Jimmy burst in.
Clark made a quiet, hoarse noise that twisted in Jimmy’s heart like a knife, and Jimmy stood frozen in the doorway for just a fraction of a second, his breath fogged ever so slightly in the cold that seemed to be seeping off of Clark. He barged the rest of the way inside and ran to his friend.
“Clark!” Jimmy called, “Clark, wake up!”

Summary
Jor stared at the ancient vehicle he now rode in. Kal called it a ‘van’ and Jor would once had called it ‘junk’ if he hadn’t seen his wife yank junked ships from the trash and make them work again. His son had named it though, which meant he was attached and reminded him of the awakened robots he had managed to save when he was younger.
It was painted blue (humans certainly loved color. It was refreshing in a way that made him wish he could change his appearance and wear something bright enough to wash out Krypton’s past like his son) with dark reddish brown spots along the bottom that flaked off when the door shut. Much of the paint was blistered.
It whined about the slightest of turns and hummed complaints the entire time it was turned on, what exactly it was complaining about was utterly beyond him.
