Summary
She traversed event horizon at the sheltered temple in the Arbor Wilds, the moment the decision was cemented in her heart, the second the waters of the well lapped at her feet. There was no going back. No other option, no escape from the consequences. Ancient legends no longer dwelled in the realm of conjured stories and dismissed memories.
The Inquisition had no way of knowing the Elder One would prove to only be the beginning, a wayward pawn in a vicious circle of feuding powers that would have no end. Bringing forth death and destruction out of good intentions is far more thorough and far more damaging than doing so out of self-gratifying purposes. It isn't simple evil Thedas will be forced to face, sooner or later. Regret, love, longing and compassion for fellow man. And that has the potential to bring far more bloodshed than conquest for the sake of power.

Summary
In theory, she aught to have witnessed the proceedings at the Conclave and returned to her Clan with much needed answers. In theory, even when that went wrong she aught to have been able to slip away, talk her way out of it. That was what she knew how to do. But theory fell painfully short of the reality. A reality that smelled of smoke and charred bone, for her, and her captors.
A collection of various moments - before, during and after DAI - of Inquisition characters I ended up writing and not using for the main story or while I was stuck on a chapter. Most of it isn't a retelling of events/scenes in the game, but random moments exploring the characters' personalities, their respective reactions to certain events and/or backstories.

Her fingers shuddered meekly as she hesitated, standing close enough to feel his breath on her skin. She had stood so close so many times before, seemingly so long ago, in a different world, and yet she had never heard a thundering so loud within her chest. In a breath, in a blink, he will disappear, he will leave her wondering whether it was all another dream. Whether he was ever there or her traumatic past was finally taking its toll on her sanity; after everything, it wouldn’t be a surprise that her fear and pain would manifest itself in a ghost of the man responsible for it all. The man who rent everything she - anyone - knew about the world to dust.
