The idea started simply: recreate a setting and build a story centered around shrine maidens.

Then I discovered the Touhou Project, and I was completely drawn in by the depth and charm of its characters—each one distinct, flavorful, and memorable in its own way.

Because of that, I began writing. Before I knew it, I had created my own characters and my own stories.

This is more than just an alternate universe. It’s a reimagined setting, built on a different set of rules and shaped by a different kind of conflict.

A few familiar faces may wander these lands, but it’s the unfamiliar ones—the ones you won’t recognize—that form the true backbone of this world.

Imagine what your favorite characters could become in a harsher environment. What would someone like Reimu Hakurei evolve into if she weren’t the only shrine maiden? What would magicians become in a world that is passively hostile toward them?

This is a new reality.

Story Notes

There are many stories already planned, and I intend to release one each week.

However, if you’re expecting strict continuity, you may be disappointed. This fanwork explores characters more independently, rarely following a single overarching narrative. The focus leans more toward worldbuilding and character relationships than constant danger or high-stakes tension.

I’m still undecided on whether to include original character tags. Once there are around twenty stories, I’ll likely add them. For now, please check the title or description to see who the protagonist is.

I’ll be honest—I’m just one person working on this, not a large production team. There may be small mistakes or grammatical slips. I’ll do my best to minimize them, but a fair warning feels appropriate.

Some stories may also be put on hold. A few are planned to be adapted into a comic or short film, though that isn’t the main focus at the moment.

Chapter Notes

Special chapters consist of multiple interconnected stories that tie into one another. These will be uploaded every three to four days, though occasional delays may occur.
