Summary
After long and cruel battles, the Sith's reign of terror was broken and the Galactic Republic was restored. With the legends of the Jedi long forgotten, any practice of the Force was criminalized as treason against the Republic in order to prevent another rise of the Sith. Beings like Obi-Wan Kenobi were now forced to live their lives in hiding or in fear of their closest friends.

Summary
After decades of oppression and countless wars, the Sith Empire had finally fallen. With burning Star Destroyers above Coruscant and the deaths of the last Dark Lords in a battle whose details survived only in mutilated holo-recordings, a fragile hope returned to the galaxy.
The new Galactic Republic had banned every form of Force use in fear of another rise of the sith. The myths of the Jedi fell into oblivion, their history erased from public archives. Force-sensitives were imprisoned as high traitors or disappeared under mysterious circumstances. It was the price paid by those who followed the doctrines of the Sith. It was the price deemed necessary to preserve peace. It was the price Barriss would pay if anyone ever discovered her gift.
Barriss is sent with three of her clones to a small colony that has been struck by a mysterious disease. But the closer they get to uncovering the cause, the more her own men turn against her, and she is forced to face the fact that she is living a lie: the beings for whom she is risking her life would execute her without hesitation.
